Micron Technology, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, manufactures and markets semiconductor solutions worldwide. It offers dynamic random access memory (DRAM) products for data storage and retrieval, including DDR4, DDR3, and DDR2 that offer high speed and high bandwidth; and other specialty DRAM memory products, such as DDR and DDR2 mobile low power DRAM, DDR, SDRAM, reduced latency DRAM, and pseudo-static DRAM products that are used in computers, servers, tablets, mobile phones, communication equipment, computer peripherals, industrial, automotive, and other electronic devices. The company also provides NAND flash memory products, such as flash memory cards comprising CompactFlash, Memory Stick, and Secure Digital; and JumpDrive products that are used in mobile phones, solid-state drives, tablets, computers, industrial and automotive applications, MP3/4 players, and other personal and consumer applications. In addition, it resells flash memory products that are purchased from other NAND flash suppliers. Further, Micron Technology, Inc. provides NOR flash memory products that are electrically re-writeable, non-volatile semiconductor memory devices used in consumer electronics, industrial, wired and wireless communications, computing, and automotive applications. The company markets its products to original equipment manufacturers and retailers through its internal sales force, independent sales representatives, and distributors, as well as through a Web-based customer direct sales channel, and channel and distribution partners. Micron Technology, Inc. was founded in 1978 and is headquartered in Boise, Idaho.

Micron Technology Inc. announced the introduction of a monolithic 8Gb DDR3 SDRAM component, enhancing its leadership position as a diverse memory solutions provider for enterprise applications such as data analytics. This new design is based on Micron's 25nm DRAM manufacturing process. DDR3 is the mainstream DRAM technology for the enterprise market, and the addition of an 8Gb monolithic component will enable cost-effective, high-capacity solutions optimized to support large-scale, data-intensive workloads. Micron Technology Inc. Reports Consolidated Earnings Results for the Third Quarter and Nine Months Ended May 29, 2014; Provides Capital Expenditure Guidance for the Fourth Quarter and Full Year of Fiscal 2014

Micron Technology Inc. reported consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended May 29, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of $3,982 million against $2,318 million a year ago. Operating income was $839 million against $149 million a year ago. Net income attributable to Micron was $806 million against $43 million a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were $0.68 against $0.04 a year ago. On a non-GAAP basis, net income attributable to Micron shareholders in the third quarter was $913 million, or $0.79 per diluted share, compared to net income of $989 million, or $0.85 per diluted share, for the second quarter of fiscal 2014. The company had very strong free cash flow at $880 million based on operating cash flow of $1.46 billion, less capital expenditure of $576 million. For the nine months, the company reported net sales of $12,131 million against $6,230 million a year ago. Operating income was $2,259 million against $29 million a year ago. Net income attributable to Micron was $1,895 million against loss of $518 million a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were $1.58 against loss per share of $0.51 a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $4,352 million against $1,094 million a year ago. Expenditures for property, plant and equipment was $1,518 million against $964 million a year ago. The company provided capital expenditure guidance for the fourth quarter and full year of fiscal 2014. Expenditures for property, plant and equipment for the fiscal year, now estimated to be between $2.8 billion and $3.2 billion. Expenditures for property, plant and equipment estimated to be over $1 billion for fourth quarter of fiscal 2014.

Micron Collaborates with Intel to Enhance Knights Landing with a High Performance, On-Package Memory Solution

Micron Technology Inc. announced an ongoing collaboration with Intel to deliver an on-package memory solution for Intel's next-generation Xeon Phi(TM) processor, codenamed Knights Landing. The memory solution is the result of a long-term effort between the two companies to break down the memory wall, leveraging the fundamental DRAM and stacking technologies also found in Micron's Hybrid Memory Cube products. Delivering 5X the sustained memory bandwidth versus DDR4 with one-third the energy per bit in half the footprint, the Knights Landing high performance, on package memory combines high-speed logic and DRAM layers into one optimized package that will set a new industry benchmark for performance and energy efficiency. The memory stack provides optimal levels of reliability, availability, and serviceability, which are critical elements for high-performance computing systems.
