Mawson West Ltd. Announces Earnings and Production Results for Second Quarter and Six Months Ended June 30, 2014; Provides Production Guidance for the Year 2014

Mawson West Limited announced earnings and production results for second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenue was AUD 4,285,000 compared to AUD 42,725,000 for the same period last year. Loss after income tax was AUD 74,527,000 compared to profit after income tax of AUD 994,000 for the same period last year. For the six months, the company reported, revenue was AUD 11,095,000 compared to AUD 87,207,000 for the same period last year. Loss after income tax was AUD 79,289,000 or 44.6 cents per diluted share compared to profit after income tax of AUD 12,943,000 or 6.8 cents per diluted share for the same period last year. Operating loss of AUD 80,429,000 and operating profit of AUD 21,219,000 a year ago. Loss before income tax was AUD 80,800,000 compared to profit before income tax was AUD 19,697,000 a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was AUD 17,468,000 compared to net cash provided by operating activities was AUD 39,957,000 a year ago. Payments for plant and equipment were AUD 3,707,000 compared to AUD 2,630,000 a year ago. Payments for exploration and evaluation expenditure were AUD 1,034,000 compared to AUD 1,506,000 a year ago. For the quarter Production totalled 744 tonnes of copper in concentrate and 65,474 ounces of silver in concentrate. A total of 36,425 tonnes of ore, at a head grade of 2.71% copper and 68 g/t silver, was processed, sourced from both underground and low grade stockpiles. For year to date production was totaled 1,623 tonnes of copper in concentrate and 131,337 ounces of silver in concentrate. A total of 87,616 tonnes of ore, at a head grade of 2.43% copper and 57 g/t silver was processed. The company expects to achieve production of between 6,000-7,000 tonnes copper during 2014.

Mawson West Limited Announces Executive Appointments, Effective from July 28, 2014

Mawson West Limited announced the appointment of Mr. Greg Entwistle to the position of Chief Development Officer plus the appointment of experienced mining executive Mr. Alistair Croll as Chief Operations Officer. Mr. Croll has extensive senior executive experience in the mining industry both in Australia and overseas having previously held senior roles with St Barbara Limited, Kimberley Diamond Company, Blina Minerals N/L and Consolidated Minerals Limited in Australia, and in South Africa with Anglo American Platinum Limited and 17 years with the De Beers Group. Mr. Entwistle and Mr. Croll's roles will be effective from 28 July 2014 and based in Mawson's West head office in Perth.
