Northeast Bancorp operates as the bank holding company for Northeast Bank that provides a range of banking and financial services to individuals and businesses in the United States. Its deposit products include demand deposit, NOW, money market, savings, and certificate of deposit accounts. The company also offers ableBanking, an online affinity deposit program that generates payments to non-profit organizations. In addition, it provides single-family residential mortgage loans; multi-family and other commercial real estate loans; residential construction loans; commercial business loans, such as term loans, lines of credit, and equipment and receivables financing; and consumer loans comprising automobile, boat, and recreational vehicle loans. Further, it is involved in the acquisition of commercial loans and secondary market commercial loans, as well as underwriting of purchased loans; and provision of brokerage and investment advisory services, as well as telephone banking, Internet banking, Internet bill payment, and remote deposit services. As of July 31, 2012, Northeast Bancorp operated 10 full-service branches, 4 investment centers, and 3 loan production offices in western and south-central Maine, and southern New Hampshire. The company was founded in 1872 and is headquartered in Lewiston, Maine.

Return on average equity was 5.85% against 1.03% a year ago. Book value per share was $11.08 against $17.29 a year ago. Return on average assets was 0.97% against 0.11% a year ago.
