Nido Petroleum Intends To Undertake Strategic Review

The Board of Nido Petroleum Ltd. (ASX:NDO) intends to undertake a strategic review of the business and to consider initiatives to improve the attractiveness of Nido Petroleum’s capital structure. This review will consider several initiatives and has the potential to include a possible share consolidation and a sale of unmarketable parcels in order to make the register more attractive to investors and to reduce share price volatility. Board of Nido Petroleum said, “We will keep shareholders updated as the strategic review progresses.” Phil Byrne, Managing Director, commented, “this is an exciting time for the Company and we look forward to steering the strategic direction of the Company with the benefit of a strong supporting shareholder.”

Nido Petroleum Ltd. Announces Board Changes, Effective October 1, 2014

Nido Petroleum Ltd. announced that Mr. Eduardo V. Mañalac and Dr. Michael Ollis will retire from the Board of Directors on 1 October 2014. Mr. Mañalac and Dr. Ollis have been members of Nido's Board of Directors since 2009 and 2011 respectively and have significantly contributed to the Company during their periods of tenure. With the resignation of Dr. Ollis and Mr. Mañalac, the Board announced the appointment of Mr. Vichien Usanachote and Mr. Chaiwat Kovavisarach to the Board with effect from October 1, 2014. Mr. Usanachote is currently the Chairman of Ubon Bio Ethanol Company Ltd, Bangchak Biofuel Company Ltd. and the Activities Committee, Environmental Engineering Association of Thailand. Mr. Usanachote has over 35 years' experience in the downstream oil and gas sector. Mr. Usanachote is currently the President of Bangchak Petroleum Public Company Ltd, Thailand being appointed in 2013 to this position. Mr. Usanachote has worked at Bangchack since 1993 where he has held various senior executive positions. Mr. Kovavisarach has over 25 years' experience in engineering, investment banking and senior executive management. Mr. Kovavisarach commenced his career in 1987 with The Siam Cement Public Company Ltd. in Thailand as a project engineer and then subsequently as a production engineer. He then moved into investment banking in 1993 working for Asset Plus Company Ltd. in Thailand as an investment banker before taking on a role as a director with SG Crosby (Thailand) /SG Securities (Singapore) Pte Ltd. between 1996-2002. He was a fellow director of the Association of Thai Securities Companies in 2000.

Nido Petroleum Limited announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the half year ended June 30, 2014. For the half-year, the company reported revenue from sale of crude oil of AUD 52,334,000 against AUD 19,734,000 a year ago. Total revenue was AUD 52,344,000 against AUD 19,759,000 a year ago. Profit before income tax was AUD 3,994,000 against AUD 19,148,000 a year ago. Net loss for the period was AUD 3,159,000 or 0.15 cents per diluted share against net profit for the period of AUD 16,962,000 or 0.87 cents per diluted share a year ago. Net cash flows from operating activities were AUD 23,496,000 against AUD 15,142,000 a year ago. Expenditure on exploration and evaluation assets was AUD 17,347,000 against AUD 1,096,000 a year ago. Payments for plant and equipment were AUD 23,000 against AUD 1,000 a year ago.
