This segment offers wireless infrastructure network solutions, including in-building, outdoor coverage enhancement, RF access network optimization, benchmarking, 3G/LT E base stations, licensed and unlicensed, point-to-point, and point-to-multi-point microwave solutions; 3G data offloading, RAN benchmarking, optimization, and QoS; and satellite communications products and services to satellite service providers, ISPs, government/aid/ rescue organizations, enterprises, media, and marine/offshore/oil and gas industries. The Infocommunications segment engages in the sale, marketing and distribution, design and engineering, project implementation, service, and maintenance of info-communications network infrastructure, broadcast infrastructure, payment systems, and wireless solutions. It offers IP network infrastructure products, including routers, switches, security, application performances, controlling access, and network operating and management systems; and various digital TV broadcast network infrastructure products, networks, and services. This segment also provides optical network platform solutions; and electronic payment solutions and value-added services. The company markets its products in Singapore, Indonesia, Afghanistan, Morocco, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Europe, Pakistan, other Asian countries, other Middle East countries, and internationally. Nera Telecommunications Ltd. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. The company reported turnover of SGD 36,454,000, profit from operations of SGD 7,198,000 profit before taxation of SGD 7,368,000, profit after taxation of SGD 5,844,000 or 1.62 cents per diluted share against turnover of SGD 43,544,000, profit from operations of SGD 7,873,000 profit before taxation of SGD 8,063,000, profit after taxation of SGD 6,492,000 or 1.79 cents per diluted share a year ago. Net cash flows from operating activities were SGD 5,536,000 against SGD 7,741,000 a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was SGD 7,410,000 against SGD 323,000 a year ago. Turnover declined 31.6% mainly due to lower sales of microwave radio equipment in the Wireless Infrastructure Network business area. The decline was in both the Asia Pacific and the Middle East /North Africa markets. There was also lower sales of Satellite equipment.
