The National Industrialization Company operates as an industrial company worldwide. The company erects, manages, operates, and owns petrochemical, chemical, plastic, engineering, and metal projects, as well as provides industrial services and markets its products. Its products include titanium dioxide used in painting, inks, plastic, rubber, paper, textile, ceramic tiles, cosmetics, pharmaceutical preparations, and other industries; and polypropylene, high and low density polyethylene, and acrylic acid and derivatives, as well as chlorine, caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, and sodium hypochlorite. The company also manufactures lead by the recycling of spent batteries; steel wires consisting of mattress springs, welding rods, cable shielding wires, deformed wires for pre-cast concrete, and galvanized wires of low and high carbon content; and metal castings, such as truck differentials, water pump heads, gear boxes, and solid steel alloys, as well as other metal alloys, including bronze, aluminum, and copper. In addition, it offers truck axels, which are used for trailers, dump trucks, and water tankers; and absorbent axels for the transport of sensitive material, such as molten sulfur and foodstuff. Further, the company provides automotive batteries for various vehicles; plastic sheets comprising polycarbonate, acrylic, ABS, and polystyrene sheets; bi-axially oriented polypropylene films; industrial membranes, such as high and low density polyethylene membranes that are used for lining, covering, or protecting various facilities; injection products comprising casings and caps for car batteries, and paint pails; and corrugated carton plates. Additionally, it offers polyolefins marketing, sales and distribution technical inspection, life safety and fire protection, management systems, hazardous waste management, analytical testing, and environmental engineering services. The company was founded in 1985 and is headquartered in Riyadh, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The National Industrialization Company and The National Titanium Dioxide Company Ltd. Announces Joint Venture with Toho Titanium Company Ltd

The National Industrialization Company and The National Titanium Dioxide Company Ltd. announced that they signed an agreement to establish a joint venture company with Toho Titanium Company Ltd. Through SIDF/local funding the new company will invest a total of USD 420 million, including startup expenses, to construct a 15,600 metric ton per year titanium sponge production facility in Yanbu Industrial City, KSA. The new facility will be built adjacent to Cristal's existing titanium dioxide plant in Yanbu Industrial City. Cristal's Titanium Dioxide plant will supply the new production plant with titanium tetrachloride. The strategic objective of the new joint venture company is to produce high quality titanium sponge at a competitive cost by benefiting from the economies of scale and integrated synergies resulting from Cristal's existing Yanbu operations and Toho's advanced production technology. The new company, which will consist of an equity shareholding of 32.5% for Cristal, 32.5% for Tasnee and 35% for Toho, is also expected to create more than 160 highly skilled direct jobs in Yanbu. This builds on the over 300 new skilled direct jobs that Cristal has recently created in the Kingdom as part of its slagger project in Jazan Economic City. It is expected that the new facility will start to ramp up commercial production in second quarter of 2017 with completion in first quarter of 2018.

Together, the companies will be able to develop new solutions for the synthetic fibre market and bring international technology into Saudi Arabia in partnership with industrialist, investor, and research centres.

The National Industrialization Company Reports Earnings Results for the Third Quarter and Nine Months of 2013

The National Industrialization Company reported earnings results for the third quarter and nine months of 2013. For the quarter, the company reported a 45.8% year-on-year decline in net profit to SAR 226.4 million ($60.4 million) as its titanium dioxide business slipped into the red on higher production costs and soft pricing. Gross profit for the period fell 11% to SAR 1.2 billion, while operating profit fell by 20.9% to SAR 762.2 million compared to the corresponding three months in 2012. For the nine months, the company reported net profit also fell 41.9% to SAR 884.9 million. Operating profit for the period down by 29.3% to SAR 2.342 billion.
