Norsat International Inc. provides communication solutions that enable the transmission of data, audio, and video for various applications and environments primarily in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland. Its Sinclair Technologies segment offers radio frequency (RF) antennas, including base station antennas, mobile/transit antennas, and covert antennas; and RF filter products, such as cavity filters, transmitter combiners, duplexers, isolators, circulators, and receiver multi-couplers. This segment serves public safety operators, including police forces, coast guards and navies, and a set of ambulance and fire dispatch services; private sector networks comprising rail, ground, and air transportation networks; original equipment manufacturers; and mobile radio, public safety, aviation, and heavy transport industries. The company’s Satellite Solutions segment provides GLOBETrekker, Norsat Rover, and SigmaLink fly-away satellite terminals; machine to machine solutions; remote terminal units for remote site data collection and control, a communication service to backhaul data, a data hosting facility for storage, and a Web based customer interface for data access; and SATCOM baseband kits for worldwide satellite system field deployments, as well as RANGER, an assisted-acquire micro-sat terminal for deployments where portability is essential. Its Microwave Products segment designs, develops, and markets microwave components, including satellite receivers, transmitters, transceivers, solid-state power amplifiers, and other microwave components that enable the transmission, reception, and amplification of signals to and from satellites. This segment serves resellers, system integrators, antenna manufacturers, and service providers. The company was formerly known as NII Norsat International, Inc. and changed its name to Norsat International Inc. in July 1999. Norsat International Inc. was founded in 1977 and is headquartered in Richmond, Canada.

Norsat International Inc. announced that it has received an order to deliver its recently launched SigmaLinkTM AUTO and Ranger products to a major military contractor that supplies communications solutions to governments and militaries worldwide. The 1.8m and 2.4m SigmaLink AUTO series of transportable satellites are ideally suited to provide broadband connectivity for basecamp operations. The SigmaLink AUTO provides a quick setup and alignment procedure, so users can be up and transmitting in under 15 minutes while getting the high throughputs offered by larger aperture sizes. This new version of company’s SigmaLink lineup adds auto-acquire technology to ensure easy operation and satellite acquisition without the need for operator alignment. The SigmaLink AUTO is a product line extension of company’s existing terminal platform technology which is utilized by military and commercial customers around the world as the most durable and reliable systems available in the marketplace. The Ranger is a high-performance, self-contained multiband microsat terminal, featuring portability and rapid deployment. The Ranger's compact form factor and large throughput make it ideal for special forces operation or for military missions where minimal weight and bulk is critical. Norsat International Inc. Reports Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Third Quarter and Nine Months Ended September 30, 2014

Norsat International Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2014. For the three months, the company reported revenue of $8.11 million, compared to $8.8 million a year ago. Earnings before income taxes were $0.9 million, compared to $0.64 million during the same period last year. Net earnings for the period were $0.97 million, or $0.02 per share, basic and diluted compared to $0.683 million or $0.01 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash flows from operating activities were $1.71 million against net cash flows used in operation activities of $0.430 million a year ago. Purchase of intangible assets, property and equipment was $0.2 million against $0.5 million a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA for the three months ended September 30, 2014 decreased by 25% to $1.0 million, compared to $1.4 million for the same period last year, reflecting a $0.3 million decrease in gross profit contributions from lower sales volume, and approximately $0.2 million less government contributions for the third quarter of 2014 compared to the same period in 2013. EBITDA was $1.2 million against $1.05 million a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported revenue of $26.81 million, compared to $25.74 million for the same period last year. Earnings before income taxes were $3.72 million against $1.93 million a year ago. Net earnings for the period were $4.144 million or $0.07 per share, basic and diluted against $2.01 million or $0.03 per share, basic and diluted, during the same period in 2013. Net cash flows from operating activities were $2.4 million against net cash flows used in operating activities of $0.5 million a year ago. Purchase of intangible assets, property and equipment was $0.41 million against $0.52 million a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA for the nine months ended September 30, 2014 was $3.9 million, compared to $3.0 million during the same period in 2013. The change in EBITDA reflects a $0.5 million increase in gross profit contributions from higher sales volume, and lower total operating expenses of approximately $1.3 million in the nine months ended September 30, 2014 compared to the same period in 2013. EBITDA was $4.711 million against $3.15 million a year ago.
