Nissan Announces Executive Changes

Nissan has appointed Mark Stout, currently Vice President of Human Resources (HR) in the Americas, to the role of Divisional General Manager, Global Talent Management at Nissan's global headquarters in Yokohama, Japan. Andrew Tavi, currently Vice President, Legal and Government Affairs, and General Counsel Americas, will take on additional responsibility for HR across the Americas region and become Vice President, Legal, Government Affairs and HR, and General Counsel, Americas. In his new role, Stout will be responsible for guiding global Nissan talent management activities as well as coordinating with the Renault-Nissan Alliance HR group to nurture a wider global talent pool. Stout joined Nissan in 1989 and has held a number of HR positions of increasing responsibilities. Tavi started his career with Nissan in 2009 after nearly four years of leading Noble International Ltd. as general counsel and ultimately as CEO.

Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. Plans to Launch Autonomous Vehicles in US by 2020

Nissan Motor Company announced that it is planning to launch autonomous vehicles in the United States by 2020. The company is planning to launch two related technologies by the end of 2016, including a fully-automated parking system and a 'traffic-jam pilot', a feature that autonomously drives in congested traffic. This will be followed in 2018 by the introduction of multiple-lane controls, allowing cars to autonomously negotiate hazards and change lanes, and before the end of the decade, the company will introduce intersection-autonomy, enabling vehicles to negotiate city cross-roads without driver intervention.

Nissan Launches Budget Car Venucia R30 in China

Nissan launched a new passenger vehicle in China called the R30. The R30 is sold under the Venucia brand in China and was developed based on a global Nissan platform, specifically tailored for the first-time buyer segment in China. The R30 is priced at CNY 39,900 (USD 6,400) and comes fitted with a 1.2-litre HR12DE engine.
