Audi to Launch A3 e-tron for USD 55,813 in Australia in 2015

Audi is set to launch the A3 Sportback e-tron plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) in Australia in March next year. The price of the vehicle can be expected at around USD 55,813, excluding on-road costs. Apart from Australia, Audi expects to begin A3 e-tron sales in Germany and Central Europe in late 2014. The company has set the base price of the vehicle at around USD 51,525 in Germany.

Audi AG Plans to Launch 48-Volt Electrical Systems on Upcoming Vehicles

Audi AG is planning to launch a 48-volt electrical systems on its upcoming vehicles. The voltage upgrade is expected to allow Audi to improve efficiency and launch new features that are not practical with current 12-volt systems. The system will operate around a new 48V alternator that charges lithium-ion batteries rather than lead-acid cells, though the first vehicles to benefit from the technology are likely to include a 12V battery and a variety of 12V components.

Audi to Expand Logistics Base in Hungary

Audi AG plans to expand its recently inaugurated logistics base in Gyor (NW Hungary). Audi opened the 75,000sqm base, built at a cost of HUF 10 billion, last autumn. Audi Hungaria Monika Czechmeister told that the unit would like to build a second warehouse in Gyor. Audi makes engines and cars in Gyor.
