Oando Plc, together with its subsidiaries, operates as an integrated energy solutions company in Nigeria and internationally. It operates through Exploration and Production, Marketing, Supply and Trading, Gas and Power, and Energy Services segments. The Exploration and Production segment explores for and produces oil and gas in Nigeria. The Marketing segment sells petroleum products, such as premium motor spirits, automotive gas oils, dual purpose kerosene, aviation turbine kerosene, low pour fuel oils, lubricating oils and greases, insecticides, bitumen, and liquefied petroleum gas through a network of approximately 300 retail service stations in Nigeria, and 40 service stations in Ghana and Togo. The Supply and Trading segment engages in the export and import of refined and unrefined petroleum products in Nigeria. The Gas and Power segment distributes natural gas through high pressure transmission pipelines and gas processing facilities to industrial and commercial consumers; and provides power to industrial customers. The Energy Services segment provides various services, such as drilling and completion fluids, solid control waste management, oil-well cementing, and other services for upstream services. Oando Plc is also involved in the power generation, offshore submarine pipeline construction, petroleum refining, real estate development, aviation, and logistics and services businesses, as well as storage and haulage of petroleum products. The company was formerly known as Unipetrol Nigeria Plc and changed its name to Oando Plc in December 2003. Oando Plc was founded in 1956 and is headquartered in Lagos, Nigeria.

Oando PLC announced unaudited group and company earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2014. For the quarter, on group basis, the company reported turnover of NGN 85,268,821,000 compared with NGN 121,061,351,000 for the same period a year ago. Operating profit was NGN 4,656,690,000 compared with NGN 5,841,987,000 for the same period a year ago. Loss before taxation was NGN 58,895,000 compared with profit before taxation of NGN 4,289,875,000 for the same period a year ago. Loss attributable to equity holders of the company was NGN 2,316,506,000 compared with profit attributable to equity holders of the company of NGN 2,416,850,000 for the same period a year ago. Cash from operating activities was NGN 52,077,816,000 against NGN 62,077,587,000 for the same period in the last year. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was NGN 7,513,245,000 against NGN 43,902,237,000 for the same period in the last year. Purchase of intangible exploration assets was NGN 481,648,000 against NGN 1,485,410,000 for the same period in the last year.
