Orbit International Corp. designs, manufactures, and sells electronic components and subsystems, and commercial and custom power units. The company operates in two groups, Electronics and Power. The Electronics group designs, manufactures, and sells customized panels, components, and subsystems to prime contractors, governmental procurement agencies, and research and development laboratories primarily in support of specific military programs; and commercial and non-military ruggedized hardware to prime contractors. Its products include remote control units; intercommunication panels; electroluminescent, plasma, and LCD displays; keyboards, keypads, and pointing devices; operator control trays; command display units; gun mount control panels; gun computer system cabinets; serial data converters; harness assemblies; and depot overhaul point. Its products are used in surveillance aircraft, shipboard programs, land based guidance control programs, and avionic displays. This segment is also involved in the analysis and evaluation of caliber naval gun weapon systems performance; and provision of engineering services in support of caliber naval gun weapon systems initiatives. The Power group manufactures and sells power supplies, AC power sources, frequency converters, uninterruptible power supplies, devices, associated analytical equipment, and other electronic equipment, as well as commercial-off-the-shelf power solutions. Orbit International Corp. markets its products primarily through its sales personnel, as well as through manufacturers’ representatives and distributors. The company was formerly known as Orbit Instrument Corp. and changed its name to Orbit International Corp. in July 1991. The company was founded in 1957 and is based in Hauppauge, New York.

Orbit International Corp.'s Electronics Group Receives A $665,000 Order for Keyboards for Federal Aviation Administration

Orbit International Corp. announced that its Electronics Group, through its Orbit Instrument Division, received an order valued at approximately $665,000 for keyboards to be utilized by the Federal Aviation Administration for its air traffic control systems. Deliveries for this order are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2013 and continue through the first quarter of 2014. The FAA has instituted its Terminal Automation Modernization and Replacement (TAMR) program, which is designed to modernize the air traffic control systems at all the nation's major airports by combining and upgrading multiple air traffic control technologies to a single platform, STARS. The TAMR program and STARS platform will provide increased safety and efficiency within the National Airspace System. Orbit's keyboards play a key role in the replacement program for the FAA in the management of commercial aviation terminal airspace.

Orbit International Corp. is planning to relocate its ICS operations into a smaller, more suitable facility when its lease expires in 2014, thereby, creating additional savings.
