For the quarter, the company reported total revenues of $1,302,012,000 against $1,037,247,000 a year ago. Operating income was $309,839,000 against $241,531,000 a year ago. Earnings before income taxes were $290,442,000 against $228,995,000 a year ago. Net income was $244,292,000 against $181,816,000 a year ago. Net income applicable to common stockholders was $244,271,000 or $4.76 per diluted share against $181,970,000 or $3.54 per diluted share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $183,117,000 against $182,380,000 a year ago. Additions to property and equipment were $15,051,000 against $13,697,000 a year ago. Non-GAAP operating income was $361,376,000 against $266,211,000 a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA was $368,236,000 against $271,520,000 a year ago. Non-GAAP Net income applicable to common stockholders was $297,235,000 or $5.76 per diluted share against $220,856,000 or $4.28 per diluted share a year ago.
For the second quarter of 2013, the company expected to increase adjusted EBITDA over GAAP net income by approximately $162 million. In addition, the non-GAAP adjustments are expected to increase non-GAAP net income over GAAP net income by approximately $54 million in the second quarter 2013. The Group estimates GAAP net income per diluted share between approximately $7.87 and $8.45 for the second quarter 2013.
