Public Power Corporation S.A., together with its subsidiaries, generates, transmits, and distributes electricity in Greece. The company generates electricity from lignite, natural gas, fuel oil, and hydroelectric and natural gas plants, as well as wind farms and photovoltaic plants. It owns 63 power generating stations; transmits electricity through approximately 12,161 kilometers of power lines; and distributes electricity to consumers through approximately 233,000 kilometers of medium and low voltage distribution lines. The company also has approximately 1,915.9 kilometers of fiber optic network along its transmission lines. Public Power Corporation S.A. was founded in 1950 and is headquartered in Athens, Greece.

Public Power Corporation and Independent Power Transmission Operator Announce Financing Contract with the European Investment Bank

Public Power Corporation S.A. announced signing of below financial contracts. The signing of the second financing contract with the European Investment Bank of an amount of €180 million, in the context of a total credit line of €415 million approved by the Bank. The first contract of an amount of €235 million was signed in March 2014. The credit line of €415 million concerns investments for the period 2013-2015 for the modernization and reinforcement of the Electricity Distribution Network of the mainland and islands of Greece. Two financing contracts between its 100% subsidiary, Independent Power Transmission Operator and the European Investment Bank concern the financing of a group of Projects under the name "Transmission I" of an amount of €70 million and of the Project "Cyclades Interconnection Phase A" of an amount of €65 million, which apart of total financing line with a redemption period of 20 years for both contracts.
