Public Power Corporation S.A., together with its subsidiaries, engages in the generation, transmission, and distribution of electricity in Greece. The company generates electricity primarily from lignite, wind, natural gas, diesel, and hydel sources. It owns 63 power generating stations; transmits electricity through approximately 12,178 kilometers of power lines; and distributes electricity to consumers through approximately 228,901 kilometers of medium and low voltage distribution lines. The company also has approximately 1,900 kilometers of fiber optic network along its transmission lines; approximately 200 kilometers of urban underground fiber optics network; and approximately 17 kilometers of underwater fiber optics network. Public Power Corporation announced that at its AGM to be held on June 29th, 2013, based on the net income, PPC's Board of Directors will propose to the shareholders general meeting, a dividend payment of €0.025 per share. Public Power Corporation S.A. (ATSE:PPC) plans to sell about a third of the production capacity of power utility PPC to a private competitor in about two years. PPC will transfer to its privately-run spin-off about 1,400 MW of coal capacity and 500 MW each of water and gas-fired units, the energy ministry said. Under the plan, Greece would then sell a 17% stake in PPC to other private investors by early 2016.

EBITDA was €990.9 million compared with €779.8 million for the same period last year. EBIT was €331.0 million compared with €122.5 million for the same period last year. Net income was €30.5 million or €0.13 per share compared with net loss of €148.9 million or €0.64 per share for the same period last year. Net debt was €4,679.0 million compared with €4,702.7 million for the same period last year. Capital expenditure was €820.6 million compared with €1,107.6 million for the same period last year. Revenues in 2012 are eliminated due to the spin-off of the Transmission segment. Results were positively impacted by the increase in turnover, the reduction in payroll and the settlement of financial disputes with DEPA. For the period, the parent reported total revenues of €5,887.9 million compared with €5,180.3 million for the same period last year. EBITDA was €812.3 million compared with €533.7 million for the same period last year. EBIT was €217.1 million compared with LBIT of €63.7 million for the same period last year. Net income was €17.1 million or €0.07 per share compared with net loss of €272.9 million or €1.18 per share for the same period last year. Net debt was €4,239.0 million compared with €4,200.9 million for the same period last year. Capital expenditure was €717.2 million compared with €1,002.3 million for the same period last year. Based on the net income of the Parent Company, PPC's Board of Directors will propose to the Shareholders General Assembly, a dividend payment of €5.8 million.
