In addition, it provides investment and trustee services for real estate transactions. The company operates 14 full-service banking offices in Riverside County and 1 full-service banking office in San Bernardino County. Provident Financial Holdings, Inc. was founded in 1956 and is headquartered in Riverside, California.

Provident Financial Holdings, Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and year ended June 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported total interest income of $9.272 million compared to $10.085 million a year ago. Net interest income was $7.657 million compared to $7.583 million a year ago. Income before taxes was $3.691 million compared to $9.220 million a year ago. Net income was $2.091 million or $0.22 per diluted share compared to $5.257 million or $0.49 per diluted share a year ago. Return on average assets was 0.75% compared to 1.73% a year ago. Return on average stockholders' equity was 5.66% compared to 13.29% a year ago. The decrease in net income was primarily attributable to an $8.17 million decrease in the gain on sale of loans, partly offset by a $3.21 million decrease in salaries and employee benefits expense and a decrease of $2.36 million in the provision for income taxes, compared to the same period one year ago. For the year, the company reported total interest income of $38.059 million compared to $44.161 million a year ago. Net interest income was $30.723 million compared to $33.357 million a year ago. Income before taxes was $11.610 million compared to $42.713 million a year ago. Net income was $6.606 million or $0.65 per diluted share compared to $25.797 million or $2.38 per diluted share a year ago. Return on average assets was 0.58% compared to 2.09% a year ago. The decrease was primarily attributable to the decline in the gain on sale of loans, which was partly offset by an increase in the recovery from the allowance for loan losses and declines in salaries and employee benefits expense and in the provision for income taxes. Return on average stockholders' equity was 4.31% compared to 16.80% a year ago. Book value per share was $15.66 compared to $15.40 a year ago.
