The Core Auction segment operates a network of auction locations that conduct live and unreserved auctions with both on-site and online bidding. The EquipmentOne segment operates a secure online marketplace that facilitates private equipment transactions. The company primarily serves buyers and sellers of equipment, trucks, and other industrial assets; and retail buyers, such as contractors, as well as truck and equipment dealers, rental companies, and brokers. It operates from approximately 110 locations in 25 countries, including 44 auction sites. The company was founded in 1958 and is headquartered in Burnaby, Canada.

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Announces Board Changes

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers announced that it's board of directors has appointed Beverley Briscoe as chair of the board, with immediate effect. Briscoe succeeds Robert Murdoch, who announced his intention to step down from the board by the end of 2014, due to reaching the mandatory age limit. Murdoch will continue as a director on the board for the remainder of 2014. Beverley Briscoe has been a director of Ritchie Bros. for over 10 years and, since September 2013, has held the role of deputy chair. Briscoe has extensive industry experience in the transportation and industrial equipment sectors. Briscoe is also a director on the board of Goldcorp Inc., where she chairs the Audit committee and is a member of the Environmental Health and Safety Committee. She is the past chair of the Industry Training Authority for BC and the past chair of the BC Forest Safety Council.

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Announces Management Changes

Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Ravi Saligram as the company's new Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Saligram will succeed Peter Blake, who will be leaving the company in July. It is expected that Mr. Saligram will assume his new role as CEO on July 7 and will be appointed as a member of the board of directors of the company at that time. Mr. Saligram's 35-year professional career includes three years as President and Chief Executive Officer of OfficeMax and more than 20 years of general management experience at ARAMARK, Intercontinental Hotels Group, and SC Johnson. In November 2010, Mr. Saligram joined OfficeMax as Chief Executive Officer, where he drove innovation and evolved the company from an office products distributor to an omnichannel provider of workplace products, services and solutions.
