SiriusXM and National Basketball Association to Launch Exclusive 24/7 NBA Channel

SiriusXM and the National Basketball Association announced they will launch an exclusive NBA channel on December 9, that will cover the league 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and bring fans closer to the game. SiriusXM NBA Radio on Channel 217 will debut on at 7:00 am ET and will feature a star-studded lineup of exclusive interviews throughout the day including NBA Commissioner David Stern, NBA Deputy Commissioner Adam Silver, Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, Los Angeles Lakers head coach Mike D'Antoni, Cleveland Cavaliers guard Kyrie Irving, New Orleans Pelicans forward Anthony Davis, Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert, Detroit Pistons center-forward Greg Monroe, Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens, center-forward Kelly Olynyk and forward Brandon Bass, and Hall of Famers Chris Mullin and Bernard King. Other big guests for the opening week will include Celtics owner Steve Pagliuca, Golden State Warriors owner Joe Lacob, and Hall of Famer Clyde Drexler, as well as Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard and Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan. Atlanta Hawks guard Jeff Teague will also be interviewed on the channel on Dec. 12. Along with one-on-one interviews with the biggest names in the game, the new NBA Channel will showcase more than 14 live NBA games each week and a daily schedule of NBA-focused news and talk from an unparalleled roster of hosts. Featured hosts include former star players and coaches such as NBA Champions and TNT analysts Kenny Smith and Steve Kerr; three-time NBA Champion center Stacey King; former NBA Champion guard and head coach Lionel Hollins; former head coaches Mike Dunleavy, Sr., and Sam Mitchell; Hall of Famer and women's basketball pioneer Nancy Lieberman; and former NBA guard Mateen Cleaves. In addition, Ian Eagle, Frank Isola, Mark Boyle, Joel Meyers and Jason Goff will provide their expertise on a regular basis. NBA fans can call in to discuss the latest headlines and weigh in with their opinions on the issues of the day. The channel will also feature regular interviews with NBA legends; on-location broadcasts from special events like the NBA All-Star Game, The Finals, NBA Draft, team training camps; programming and specials focused on the history of the game; and more. Listeners tuning in for the first day of programming will hear The Starting Lineup, hosted by Stacey King and NY Daily News writer Frank Isola, starting at 7:00 am ET. At 12:00 pm ET, Sam Mitchell and Jason Goff will host Off the Dribble. Steve Kerr and Ian Eagle will host Long Range at 3:00 pm ET. The channel will air live coverage of the Los Angeles Clippers vs. the Philadelphia 76ers that night starting at 7:00 pm ET, followed by the Dallas Mavericks vs. the Sacramento Kings. The following night, the channel will carry live play-by-play of the Miami Heat vs. the Indiana Pacers at 7:00 pm ET. NBA programming is available to subscribers with XM Select, Sirius Premier or Sirius All-Access plans. The David Bowie Channel to Launch on SiriusXM on October 30, 2013

Sirius XM Radio announced that it will launch The David Bowie Channel, the commercial-free music channel featuring the complete works of innovative music pioneer David Bowie. The David Bowie Channel will launch on October 30 at 12:00 pm ET and will run through November 12, via satellite on channel 111. The David Bowie Channel will be available as a 24/7 channel online and through the SiriusXM Internet Radio App for smartphones and mobile devices beginning October 30 for an extended period. The limited-run channel will feature music from the vast body of artistry from Bowie's entire career, from his earliest recordings through 2013's The Next Day. The David Bowie Channel will also exclusively premiere the five unheard songs from Bowie's The Next Day Extra, the 3 disc collectors edition; the songs will only be heard on The David Bowie Channel until November 5, the day The Next Day Extra is released. Listeners will hear rare tracks and demo versions of some of Bowie's great songs as well as artists including Beck, Annie Lennox, Nirvana, Tears For Fears, Barbra Streisand, The Wallflowers, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Duran Duran, Scott Weiland and Dinosaur Jr. interpreting Bowie's music.

SIRIUS XM Radio Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2013. For the quarter, the company’s total revenue was $961,509,000 compared to $867,360,000 for the same period in 2012. Income from operations was $284,529,000 compared to $231,749,000 for the same period in 2012. Income before income taxes was $124,052,000 compared to $54,401,000 for the same period in 2012. Net income was $62,894,000 or $0.01 per diluted share compared to $74,514,000 or $0.01 per diluted share for the same period in 2012. Adjusted EBITDA were $295,742,000 compared to $244,617,000 for the same period in 2012. Net cash provided by operating activities was $302,236,000 compared to $219,809,000 for the same period a year ago. Additions to property and equipment were $55,255,000 compared to $24,602,000 for the same period a year ago.
For the nine months, the company’s total revenue was $2,799,017,000 compared to $2,509,625,000 for the same period in 2012. Income from operations was $799,197,000 compared to $658,929,000 for the same period in 2012. Income before income taxes was $528,875,000 compared to $302,597,000 for the same period in 2012. Net income was $312,018,000 or $0.05 per diluted share compared to $3,316,457,000 or $0.49 per diluted share for the same period in 2012. Net cash provided by operating activities was $744,257,000 compared to $513,532,000 for the same period in 2012. Additions to property and equipment were $118,235,000 compared to $73,546,000 for the same period in 2012. Adjusted EBITDA were $840,589,000 compared to $689,873,000 for the same period in 2012.
The company increased its expectation for 2013 total net subscriber growth and revenue, reduced its estimate for 2013 self-pay net subscriber growth, and reiterated its existing guidance for adjusted EBITDA and free cash flow. For the year 2013, the company expected revenue of approximately $3.77 billion, up from previous guidance of over $3.7 billion. Adjusted EBITDA expected to be approximately $1.14 billion. Free cash flow expected to be approximately $915 million. Total net subscriber additions expected to be approximately 1.6 million, up from previous guidance of 1.5 million, Self-pay net subscriber additions of approximately 1.5 million, down from previous guidance of approximately 1.6 million.
For the year 2014, the company expected revenue of over $4.0 billion and adjusted EBITDA of approximately $1.38 billion.
