Rede Energia S.A. - Fixed Income Call on Mar 11, 2013

Companhia Paranaense de Energia (Copel) and Energisa S.A. said that they are planning to make a joint bid to acquire Rede Energia S.A. Copel said it has formed a "strategic partnership" with Energisa for a controlling stake in Rede's assets. "We can assure that we are able to formulate a structured proposal in accordance with legal and regulatory guidelines that will be made available for analysis. The proposal will provide initial financial contributions to ensure the continuity of distribution in addition to a mid and long-term restructuring plan," the statement said.

CPFL Energia S.A. is seeking partners for the acquisition of Comp de Energia Eletrica do Estado do Tocantins-CELTINS, from Rede Energia S.A. Wilson Ferreira Junior, Chief Executive Officer of CPFL, said on October 11, 2012 that an alliance for the potential acquisition would be needed since Rede's assets are squatted in various regions of the country and require significant investments.
