Its principal products include starters and alternators used in gasoline, diesel, natural gas, and alternative fuel engines for light vehicle, commercial vehicle, industrial, construction, and agricultural applications; hybrid electric motors that are used in light and commercial vehicles, including construction, public transit, and agricultural applications; remanufactured power assemblies for locomotive diesel engines; and remanufactured multi-line products, such as steering gears, brake calipers, and constant velocity axles for light and commercial vehicle applications. The company offers its products to original equipment manufacturers for factory installation on new vehicles; and aftermarket customers primarily consisting of retailers and warehouse distributors, as well as for the original equipment service market. Remy International, Inc. sells and distributes its products through its direct sales force primarily under the Delco Remy, Remy, World Wide Automotive, and USA Industries brand names, as well as customers' private label brand names. The company was founded in 1896 and is headquartered in Pendleton, Indiana.

For the quarter, the company reported operating income of $22,138,000, income before income taxes of $16,748,000, net income attributable to common stockholders of $9,956,000 or $0.32 basic and diluted per share on net sales of $299,293,000 against operating income of $20,158,000, income before income taxes of $16,427,000, net income attributable to common stockholders of $11,368,000 or $0.36 basic and diluted per share on net sales of $282,349,000 for the same period a year ago. Adjusted EBITDA was $34,734,000 against $33,212,000 for the same period a year ago. Adjusted net income attributable to common stockholders was $10.813 million or $0.34 per basic and diluted share against $13.223 million or $0.42 per basic and diluted share for the same period a year ago. Capital expenditures for the quarter were $5 million, compared to $7.5 million last year. Net debt was $247 million compared to $241 million last year. With this high-efficiency, mid-range amperage alternator, Remy offers customers a comprehensive portfolio of high output products. 38SI features includes remote sense that can reduce battery charge time by 50%, Unique stator design with best-in-class high efficiency, providing less engine horsepower requirements and substantial fuel savings, Premium brushless design that transfers magnetic fields between the field and rotor air-gap, completely eliminating the need for brushes and, thereby, extending the life cycle, OE inspection and approval, assuring OE quality and performance for aftermarket replacements. High efficiency translates to less engine horsepower requirements, resulting in substantial fuel savings. To assess the impact on the overall vehicle and electrical system, Remy collected real-time operating data on several vehicle applications.
