In 1985 Colin Godwin discovered the Kerr porphyry copper-gold deposit at Sulphurets Creek in the Eskay creek area of northwest BC and in 1987 formed and publicly listed Sulphurets Gold Corporation on the VSE. Sulphurets Gold Corporation was bought by Placer Dome Mining in 1989.
