Renault Reaches Agreement with Bollore Group to Promote Electric Vehicles

Renault has announced that it has reached an agreement with Bollore Group to promote electric vehicles (EVs). Renault will gradually take over assembly of the Bluecar EV, used by Bollore for its car-sharing schemes. This will start taking place at its Dieppe (France) site from the second half of 2015. To make way for the vehicle, a new final assembly workshop will be set up within the plant, which will give Bollore access to a modern production tools and deliver a significant reduction in costs. Furthermore, Bollore has also asked Renault to conduct a feasibility survey on the design, development and production in a Renault Group plant in France of a smaller, three-seat car to support the expansion of car-sharing initiatives. The vehicle is aimed to be also sold to consumers, companies and municipalities. It will also benefit from a Blue Solutions lithium-metal-polymer (LMP) battery with a capacity of 20 kilowatt hours (kWh).

Renault SA to Form Joint Venture with Bollore S.A

Renault SA has agreed to form a joint venture with Bollore S. A to install electric car-sharing solutions in France and Europe. Under the terms of the agreement, Renault will hold a 30% stake, while Bollore will own a 70% stake in the joint venture.
