ResMed Introduces myAir Patient Engagement Platform That Supports and Coaches Patients to Improve Compliance

ResMed introduced myAir, a new therapy management application for patients with sleep-disordered breathing. myAir equips patients with the information they need to resolve basic therapy issues so they can increase their comfort and stay compliant. By providing well-timed support, education and troubleshooting tools, myAir helps patients feel confident and motivated to start and stay on therapy. Empowering patients to take an active role in their health, myAir helps drive operational efficiencies for home medical equipment providers (HMEs) and gives them more time to focus on patients who need it most. myAir is a key component of ResMed Air Solutions, the forward-thinking connected care solution for treating sleep-disordered breathing launched earlier this year. With its mobile responsive design, patients can access myAir from their mobile phones and tablets, anytime, anywhere. The platform has been designed exclusively for ResMed's AirSense 10 and AirCurve 10 devices, both of which are wirelessly enabled to automatically deliver therapy data into myAir on a daily basis. With myAir, patients receive a myAir score each morning calculated from their therapy data, providing them with a quick, snapshot view of their treatment. They can also click through to see how their myAir Score was calculated from metrics such as usage time and mask seal. Together with trend charts of the previous two weeks, myAir makes it easier for patients to track their sleep progress which can help them feel more confident and encouraged night after night. HMEs supporting patients using myAir can benefit from a variety of coaching and reinforcement capabilities delivered via email and/or text. The coaching tips are supplemented with compelling video content as well as encouragement and praise - shareable in social media if the patient desires - intended to increase confidence and sustain motivation.

ResMed Enhances U-Sleep Patient Management Platform with Action View for Easier Management by Exception

ResMed announced a significant improvement to U-Sleep, its patient management platform, which allows home medical equipment providers (HMEs) to quickly and effectively manage patients with sleep apnea and respiratory conditions. U-Sleep's new Action View feature gives HMEs a fast method of sorting patients into actionable groups known as managing by exception allowing them to focus timely attention on patients most in need. In turn, HMEs can increase business efficiency and help drive positive patient outcomes. Complementing the ResMed AirView(TM) patient management system, U-Sleep is an innovative cloud-based solution designed to help HMEs streamline processes, maximize compliance and achieve scalable time and cost savings. With U-Sleep, HMEs can receive detailed reports about patient performance and help coach sleep patients based on compliance with defined therapy programs. U-Sleep's coaching components include automated follow up by text, email and phone. Data presented at the 2014 American Thoracic Society Conference shows that U-Sleep's automated coaching capabilities can result in a reduction in staff coaching time while supporting continued compliance. U-Sleep users will see the Action View screen as the new default landing page, which includes easy-to-view, color-coded tiles. Each tile contains a list of patients that have triggered a specific rule based on sleep therapy outcomes. Typical groups include: patients who have been on therapy for a specific number of days (e.g. 7, 30, 60, 90); patients at risk for not reaching payor compliance; patients not compliant at 90 days; patients for which no therapy data has been received; patients that are payor compliant.

ResMed Launches ResMed Data Exchange

ResMed Inc. announced the availability of the ResMed Data Exchange program, a comprehensive suite of software and service solutions for home medical equipment (HME) and other health care providers. ResMed Data Exchange offers timely, secure access to critical patient information. It integrates valuable sleep and respiratory treatment data from ResMed's AirView(TM) and U-Sleep(TM) patient management platforms with customers' in-house or third-party electronic health and medical records, along with their billing or care management applications. ResMed Data Exchange Resources Include: A suite of application program interfaces to connect third-party systems to patient data; Integration tools and support; A team of dedicated healthcare informatics solutions engineers who work directly with HMEs and partner providers during all phases of the integration process, from solution design to application certification and ongoing support ResMed Air Solutions. ResMed Data Exchange complements ResMed Air Solutions, its sleep-disordered breathing and respiratory care product line that provides an end-to-end solution for HMEs, physicians and other health care providers to improve workflow efficiency and patient outcomes. The Air Solutions suite includes the recently announced AirSense(TM) 10 and AirCurve(TM) 10 device series with built-in remote monitoring capabilities. Remote monitoring enables delivery of daily therapy information to ResMed's U-Sleep and AirView patient management platforms, as well as to integrated third-party health care applications.
