RadiSys Corporation announced that GENBAND has selected its Software Media Resource Function (MRF) to provide the IP media processing for GENBAND's EXPERiUS(TM) application server and CONTiNUUM(TM) call session controllers. Radisys and GENBAND collaborated to enable virtualized media processing to meet the growing demand for cloud-based deployments. By offering these software components in a virtualized cloud deployment model, GENBAND can provide its customers with flexible service offerings that they can quickly take to market. Radisys' Software MRF is a fundamental element in an IP communications network, processing real-time audio and video media streams under the control of Application Servers in an IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) environment. Radisys' Software MRF provides extensive, high capacity IP audio and media processing capabilities, including simple conference mixing, messaging and IVR feature control for the Unified Communications needs of GENBAND's EXPERiUS application server, while supporting multimedia network announcements, digit collection and lawful intercept for the CONTiNUUM call session controllers.

RadiSys Corporation reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. For the quarter, revenues were $68,178,000 against $75,487,000 a year ago. Loss from operations was $5,550,000 against $4,254,000 a year ago. Loss before income tax expense was $5,735,000 against $4,511,000 a year ago. Net loss was $6,557,000 or $0.23 per basic and diluted share against $4,815,000 or $0.18 per basic and diluted share a year ago. Net cash provided by operating activities was $917,000 against net used in operating activities of $862,000 a year ago. Capital expenditures were $1,699,000 against $3,574,000 a year ago. Non-GAAP revenues were $68,178,000 against $75,676,000 a year ago. Non-GAAP income from operations was $340,000 against $2,052,000 a year ago. Non-GAAP net loss was $134,000 against non-GAAP net income of $1,624,000 a year ago. For the second quarter ending June 30, 2013, revenue is expected between $63 million and $69 million. GAAP net loss is expected to be between a loss of $5.3 million or $0.19 per share and $19 million or $0.07 per share. Non-GAAP net loss is expected to be between a loss of $0.09 million or $0.03 per share and Non-GAAP net profit of $2.5 million or $0.09 per share. The company expects to generate positive cash flow in the second quarter. Non-GAAP gross margin is expected to approximate 34% to 36%.
