It operates in two segments, Wireless and Wireline. The Wireless segment offers wireless data communication services, including mobile productivity applications, such as Internet access, messaging, and email services; wireless photo and video offerings; location-based capabilities comprising asset and fleet management, dispatch services, and navigation tools; mobile entertainment applications; and local and long distance wireless voice services, as well as voicemail, call waiting, three-way calling, caller identification, directory assistance, and call forwarding services. It also offers voice and data services internationally through roaming arrangements; and customized wireless services to large companies and government agencies, as well as sells accessories, such as carrying cases, hands-free devices, batteries, battery chargers, and other devices to subscribers, agents, and other third-party distributors. The Wireline segment provides wireline voice and data communications, including domestic and international data communications using various protocols, such as multiprotocol label switching technologies, Internet protocol (IP), managed network services, voice over IP, and session initiated protocol to other communications companies, and targeted business and consumer subscribers; and wholesale voice local and long distance services, and digital voice services to cable multiple system operators. It offers its services under the Sprint, Boost Mobile, Virgin Mobile, and Assurance Wireless brand names. The company was formerly known as Sprint Nextel Corporation and changed its name to Sprint Corporation on July 10, 2013. The company was founded in 1899 and is headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas. As of July 10, 2013, Sprint Corporation operates as a subsidiary of SoftBank Corp.

Sprint Unveils New Samsung Galaxy S 5 Smartphone with Wi-Fi Calling

Sprint Corporation has unveiled Samsung Galaxy S 5 smartphone with Wi-Fi Calling. The software update is rolling out now, and an update notification will be pushed to all Galaxy S 5 customers automatically during the next few weeks. Wi-Fi Calling is a FREE service that lets user use voice and messaging services over existing home, office and public Wi-Fi networks. With Wi-Fi Calling, user will experience improved voice, data and messaging services in locations that previously had limited or no mobile network coverage. With Wi-Fi Calling the customers will experience better call quality in locations with challenging network conditions. It is easy to setup, once activated, everything is seamless and happens in the background. International Wi-Fi calling allows customers to make calls and send texts via Wi-Fi in more than 100 countries.

Sprint Announces Availability of Sprint Business Fusion Plans

Sprint has announced the availability of its new Sprint Business Fusion Plans for business customers. Sprint Business Fusion Plans start as low as $15 with a qualifying smartphone purchase and include unlimited talk and text and Sprint Direct Connect. Customers have the option to choose unlimited data while on the Sprint network for $30 or the ability to pool data among users with 2GB for $20 or 1GB for $151. For a limited time, smartphone data plans include double the data allotment. Customers also have the choice to add devices to the pool of data, including tablets, mobile broadband cards, mobile hotspots, routers and machine to machine devices. In addition, plans for Basic phones are available. Customers can easily purchase their device through the Sprint Easy Pay program and pay in 24 monthly installments. When purchasing a smartphone or basic phone with Sprint Easy Pay, customers will receive a monthly discount on the unlimited talk and text portion of their plan. Customers also have the option to activate an existing Sprint device or pay full retail price.

Sprint launches Sprint LivePro

Sprint launched Sprint LivePro. Measuring 4.7 inches x 4.7 inches and only 1.1 inches thick, Sprint LivePro easily fits in a briefcase or purse and features an embedded speaker providing audio during video or presentations. For bigger sound, separate speakers can be paired via Bluetooth(R) or attached to the device with a 3.5mm jack. LivePro offers an easy-to-use 4-inch touchscreen display and Android(TM) 4.2, Jelly Bean, user interface, making it easy to access content and use the hotspot. The large 5,000mAh lithium ion battery can also be used as a power bank to charge a smartphone, tablet or other devices using a USB cable. Users can share content using HDMI or USB cables, or wirelessly mirror a smartphone or tablet display using Wi-Fi Miracast. Through the Wi-Fi connection, users can also pull content from the Cloud directly from the device and stream video and audio content easily with a Wi-Fi connection or data plan. Files can be shared and stored on LivePro using Bluetooth, an HDMI or USB cable as well. Sprint LivePro is also a great tool for entertaining. Customers can also use the mobile hotspot to pull and share content from the Web. Featuring access to Google Play(TM), with more than 1 million apps, millions of songs and books, and thousands of movies, LivePro can keep guests entertained well into the night. LivePro also includes Google Mobile(TM) wireless services, such as Google Chrome, Google Search(TM), Gmail(TM), Google Maps(TM) for Android, Google Calendar(TM), Drive and YouTube(TM). Sprint mobile broadband data plans for LivePro start at $34.99 per month for 3GB of combined 3G/4G data while on the Sprint network. Customers can choose the $49.99 plan with 6GB of combined 3G/4G data or $79.99 plan with 12GB of 3G/4G data. It will be available in select Sprint Stores, and through Sprint direct ship sales channels, including Sprint Stores, Business Sales, Web Sales and Telesales.
