The company is engaged in the installation of offshore platforms and marine pipelines; provision of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning services, as well as drilling rigs and services; oilfield development and production of petroleum resources; and leasing of floating, production, storage, and offloading vessels. It is also involved repair and refurbishment of industrial gas turbines; supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of point-of-sale systems for petrol stations; and provision of treasury management services and asset management services for offshore installations. In addition, the company offers provides subsea and offshore support, and geotechnical and geophysical services to the oil and gas industry; hydrographic surveys and related, soil investigation and geotechnical, and marine support and logistic assistance services; lease financing services; systems integration, software development, general engineering, maintenance, and related services; retail automation systems and maintenance services; manpower and procurement services; and project management and diving services, as well as infrastructure and specialized steel fabrication works. Further, it develops marine technology; owns and operates remote operated vehicles for the offshore oil and gas industries; charters and hires barges, vessel, and operational equipment; undertakes engineering works; and operates as a license holder for drilling of offshore oil wells. The company is headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad Reports Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Fourth Quarter and Full Year Ended January 31, 2014

SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the fourth quarter and full year ended January 31, 2014. For the quarter, revenue was MYR 1,884.211 million against MYR 1,957.551 million a year ago. Profit from operations was MYR 405.857 million against MYR 227.959 million a year ago. Profit before taxation was MYR 274.174 million against MYR 207.847 million a year ago. Profit for the year attributable to owners of the parent was MYR 337.234 million or 5.63 sen per basic share against MYR 123.893 million or 2.48 sen per basic share a year ago. Group revenue decreased, primarily due to lower revenue from the Domgas project. For the year, revenue was MYR 8,378.776 million against MYR 6,912.414 million a year ago. Profit from operations was MYR 1,845.562 million against MYR 1,104.429 million a year ago. Profit before taxation was MYR 1,207.757 million against MYR 829.750 million a year ago. Profit for the year attributable to owners of the parent was MYR 1,086.914 million or 18.92 sen per basic share against MYR 524.596 million or 10.48 sen per basic share a year ago. Net cash generated from operating activities was MYR 2,110.856 million against MYR 731.485 million a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was MYR 2,062.719 million against MYR 808.056 million a year ago. Expenditure on oil and gas properties was MYR 173.234 million against MYR 396.817 million a year ago. Group revenue for the current financial year increased by MYR 1.4 billion, or 21.2%, primarily due to the inclusion of nine months of the tender rig business.

SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad Secures MYR 16.5 Billion Refinancing

SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad concluded a MYR 16.5 billion refinancing club deal with 13 local, regional and international banks. The refinancing programme was put in place to replace and streamline facilities inherited from the merger of SapuraCrest Petroleum and Kencana Petroleum in 2012. It was also for the financing of the group's two most recent acquisitions, the Seadrill tender-rig business, which has since been renamed SapuraKencana Drilling, and the purchase of the entire interest in Newfield Malaysia Holding Inc. About 80%, or MYR 13 billion, of the refinancing package is dedicated to assets that are fully contracted out to international and national oil companies.

SapuraKencana Petroleum Berhad announced the appointment of Ramlan Bin Abdul Malek as Executive Director, effective March 1, 2013. Encik Ramlan bin Abdul Malek was the Vice President, Petroleum Management, Exploration & Production ("E&P") Business of PETRONAS prior to his retirement from PETRONAS at the end of February 2014. Encik Ramlan has 34 years of working experience in the upstream E&P business. Prior to assuming his position in June 2010, he was the Vice President, E&P Business (from March 2007) and held several technical and general management positions in PETRONAS.
