Saputo Inc. produces, markets, and distributes various dairy products in Canada, the United States, Argentina, and internationally. It offers mozzarella and cheddar, as well as other specialty and fine cheeses; fluid milk; and a range of dairy products, including cream, yogurt, butter, powered milk, evaporated milk, ice cream mixes, and dairy ingredients, such as whey powder, lactose, and whey protein. The company also manufactures snack-cakes under its own brand, as well as customer branded products for third parties; and distributes fine imported cheeses to specialty stores. In addition, it produces various mozzarella, American-style, specialty, and other cheeses, including ricotta, provolone, blue, swiss, parmesan, and romano; whey protein concentrates and ingredient blends; and dairy and non-dairy products, such as cream and creamers, ice cream mixes, whipping cream, aerosol whipped toppings, iced coffee, half and half, and value-added milks, as well as cultured products comprising sour cream and cottage cheese. Further, the company produces and markets various soft, semi-soft, hard, and grated cheeses, as well as butter, cream, milk powder, and dairy ingredients to the retail and industrial markets. It services customers in the retail, foodservice, and industrial segments. The company sells its products in approximately 40 countries under various brand names, such as Saputo, Alexis de Portneuf, Armstrong, Baxter, Dairyland, Dragone, DuVillage 1860, Friendship, Frigo Cheese Heads, Great Midwest, King’s Choice, Kingsey, La Paulina, Milk2Go, Neilson, Nutrilait, Ricrem, Salemville, Stella, and Treasure Cave. The company was formerly known as Saputo Group Inc. and changed its name to Saputo Inc. in October 2000. Saputo Inc. was founded in 1954 and is headquartered in Montréal, Canada.

Saputo Inc. Announces Plant Closures in Canada and the United States

Saputo Inc. announced measures aimed at improving its operational efficiency. Saputo will close four of its facilities, two in Canada, in Wetaskiwin and Glenwood (Alberta); as well as two in the USA, in New London (Wisconsin) and Hancock (Maryland). The current production will be integrated into other Saputo facilities. The first facility closure is scheduled in May 2014 and the last closure will occur in December 2015. In all, approximately 180 employees will be impacted. These employees will be provided with severance and outplacement support; and some will be offered the possibility of transferring to other Saputo locations.

Saputo Inc. Appoints Paul Corney as President and Chief Operating Officer, Dairy Foods Division (USA), Effective April 1, 2014

Saputo Inc. announced an appointment in its senior management team. Effective April 1, 2014, Mr. Paul Corney will be appointed President and Chief Operating Officer, Dairy Foods Division (USA). Mr. Corney has been with the company since 2001 and has served as Senior Vice President - National Retail Sales, Dairy Division (Canada). Prior to 2001, Mr. Corney held several senior management positions in sales and operations with other dairy processors. In his new role, Mr. Corney will report to Mr. Dino Dello Sbarba, President and Chief Operating Officer, Saputo Inc. Since December 2013, Mr. Dello Sbarba is also acting as Interim President and Chief Operating Officer, Dairy Foods Division (USA).
