For the quarter, toll revenue was EUR 469.3 million against EUR 463.5 million a year ago. Toll revenues for the quarter were 1.3% above prior corresponding period. The higher revenue reflects the impact of the annual tariff increases which came into effect on 1 February. For the quarter, total vehicle kilometres travelled was 4,805 m against 4,813 m a year ago.

Société des Autoroutes Paris-Rhin-Rhône announced consolidated earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2012. For the year, revenue was €2,226.5 million compared to €2,180.6 million a year ago. Operating profit from ordinary activities was €1,010.4 million compared to €994.8 million a year ago. Profit for the year was €392.0 million compared to €395.4 million a year ago. Profit for the year attributable to equity holders of the parent company was €391.8 million or €3.47 basic and diluted earnings per share compared to €395.2 million or €3.50 basic and diluted earnings per share a year ago. Net cash from operating activities was €870.5 million compared to €804.4 million a year ago. Total purchases on non-current assets were €259.1 million compared to €247.5 million a year ago. Net debt was €6,891.1 million compared to €6,223.3 million a year ago. EBITDA was €1,428 million compared to €1,399 million a year ago.

Société des Autoroutes Paris-Rhin-Rhône reported consolidated revenue and traffic results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2012. For the quarter, the company's consolidated revenue excluding construction was €469.8 million in the fourth quarter of 2012, an increase of 0.2% from €469.0 million in the fourth quarter of 2011. Excluding construction, the company's consolidated revenue totaled €2,038.6 million for 2012, an increase of 0.8% from €2,021.6 million in 2011. This increase was due to toll revenues, which account for 96.7% of total revenue and increased by 0.5%, due to the tariff increase, and to other revenue (retail facilities, telecommunications and other), which increased by 11.3%. For the quarter, total traffic was 4,722 million of kilometers travelled, compared to 4,851 million of kilometers travelled for the last year. Overall traffic measured by the number of kilometers travelled decreased by 2.7% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2012. The 2.5% decrease in light vehicle traffic masks contrasting monthly performances, with the timing of the Christmas school holidays to a shift of traffic from December 2012 to January 2013. Heavy goods vehicle traffic continues to be impacted by the deterioration in the economic environment and declined by 3.6% compared with the fourth quarter of 2011. For the year, total traffic was 21,143 million of kilometers travelled, compared to 21,500 million of kilometers travelled for the last year. Light vehicle traffic, which was affected notably by the unfavourable weather conditions during the first half of 2012, declined by 1.3% compared with 2011, with contrasting performances from one month to the next. Heavy goods vehicle traffic has been adversely impacted by the economic downturn since the last quarter of 2011 and declined by 3.8% compared with 2011.
