Select Income REIT Announces Unaudited Consolidated Earnings Results for the Third Quarter and Nine Months Ended September 30, 2014

Select Income REIT announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2014. Normalized funds from operations, or Normalized FFO, for the quarter ended September 30, 2014 were $39.3 million, or $0.66 per share, compared to Normalized FFO for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 of $33.1 million, or $0.67 per share. Net income was $23.7 million, or $0.40 per share, for the quarter ended September 30, 2014, compared to $23.6 million, or $0.47 per share, for the same quarter last year. The declines in Normalized FFO per share and net income per share for the quarter ended September 30, 2014 primarily resulted from the increase in SIR's weighted average number of common shares outstanding from 49.7 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2013 to 59.9 million for the quarter ended September 30, 2014, which was partially offset by increases in Normalized FFO and net income from recently acquired properties and positive leasing/rent resets at SIR's Hawaii properties. Total revenues were $56,700,000 against $48,584,000 a year ago. Operating income was $26,651,000 against $26,814,000 a year ago. Income before income tax expense and equity in earnings of an investee was $23,618,000 against $23,582,000 a year ago. FFO was $34,279,000 against $32,079,000 a year ago. FFO per common share was $0.57 against $0.65 a year ago. Normalized FFO was $39,297,000 or $0.66 per share against $33,065,000 or $0.67 per share for the same period a year ago. Net Operating Income was $46,418,000 against $39,297,000 for the same period a year ago. Normalized FFO, for the nine months ended September 30, 2014 were $114.9 million, or $2.10 per share, compared to Normalized FFO for the nine months ended September 30, 2013 of $93.5 million, or $2.19 per share. Net income was $79.0 million, or $1.44 per share, for the nine months ended September 30, 2014, compared to $69.0 million, or $1.61 per share, for the nine months ended September 30, 2013. The decline in Normalized FFO per share and net income per share for the nine months ended September 30, 2014 primarily resulted from the increase in SIR's weighted average number of common shares outstanding from 42.8 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2013 to 54.7 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2014, which was partially offset by an increase in Normalized FFO and net income from recently acquired properties and positive leasing/rent resets at SIR's Hawaii properties. Total revenues were $166,285,000 against $138,390,000 a year ago. Operating income was $88,735,000 against $79,410,000 a year ago. Income before income tax expense and equity in earnings of an investee was $78,953,000 against $68,926,000 a year ago. FFO was $109,334,000 against $91,458,000 a year ago. FFO per common share was $2.00 against $2.19 a year ago. Normalized FFO was $114,909,000 or $2.10 per share against $93,526,000 or $2.19 per share for the same period a year ago. Net Operating Income was $136,039,000 against $112,218,000 for the same period a year ago.
