Carillion Awards Two-Year Contract to Skanska

Skanska announced that it has been awarded a two-year contract by Carillion, to deliver the mechanical and electrical shell, core and fit-out works for 866 prime residential apartments, as part of Phase 1 of the Battersea Power Station redevelopment in London, UK. The contract is worth about GBP 89 million, about SEK 970 million, which will be included in the order booking for Skanska UK in the third quarter 2014. The apartments are located in two buildings just west of the Power Station and include a large communal basement and podium areas. Work on the contract is set to commence in September 2014 and scheduled to conclude in October 2016.

Skanska AB (publ) announced consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended June 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenues of SEK 34,575 million compared with SEK 34,592 million for the same period a year ago. Operating income was SEK 925 million compared with SEK 1,498 million for the same period a year ago. Income after financial items was SEK 859 million compared with SEK 1,422 million for the same period a year ago. Profit for the period was SEK 645 million or SEK 1.57 per diluted share compared with SEK 1,063 million or SEK 2.58 per diluted share for the same period a year ago. Cash flow from operating activities was SEK 450 million compared with Cash flow used in operating activities of SEK 1,002 million for the same period a year ago. Net investments in property, plant and equipment were SEK 329 million compared with SEK 213 million for the same period a year ago. For the six months, the company reported revenues of SEK 62,446 million compared with SEK 62,773 million for the same period a year ago. Operating income was SEK 1,581 million compared with SEK 2,017 million for the same period a year ago. Income after financial items was SEK 1,456 million compared with SEK 1,868 million for the same period a year ago. Net debt was SEK 5,277 million compared with SEK 4,591 million for the same period a year ago. Return on equity was 15.4% compared with 19.4% for the same period a year ago.
