AB SKF Provides Earnings Guidance for the Half Year of 2014

AB SKF provided earnings guidance for the half year of 2014. The company will report one-time items of around SEK 220 million impacting profit before taxes in the second quarter of 2014. The operating profit will include one-time costs of around SEK 110 million and the financial net will include a one-time cost of around SEK 110 million. The company will report restructuring and one-time costs of around SEK 100 million impacting operating profit. The company will report a negative one-time impact on the operating profit of around SEK 10 million and a negative one-time impact on the financial net of around SEK 110 million related to changes in currency regulation and currency rates in Venezuela which significantly impacts the value of the balance sheet in this country when converted into SEK.

SKF Signs Three-Year Engineering Solutions Deal with Argos in Colombia

SKF announced that Argos has chosen SKF to provide a broad range of engineering products and services for its operations in Colombia over the next three years. SKF provide Argos with condition-based maintenance services, mechanical services, reliability engineering services and condition monitoring solutions. This will support Argos to take a 'proactive maintenance' approach to ensuring its conveyors, gearboxes and mills operate reliably in its four biggest facilities in Colombia. In addition to this, as part of a renewed 'trouble-free operation' corporate supply agreement, SKF will provide everything from bearings, housings and seals to training and application engineering, to support Argos' operations in 10 plants throughout Colombia. Argos has expanded the scope of this agreement to include seals and more bearing products than SKF had supplied previously.
