Senior plc designs, manufactures, and markets high technology components and systems for the principal original equipment producers in the aerospace, defense, land vehicle and energy markets worldwide. The company’s Aerospace division provides aerospace ducting systems, fabricated components, and machined components; bellows and seals; couplings and valves; hydraulic and fuel systems; machined aero structures; machined airframe and interiors; sensors and monitoring systems; and structural and ducting composites. Its Flexonics division provides automotive common rails, drain tubes, exhaust connectors, flexible tubes, heat exchangers, and high pressure lines; fabric expansion joints; fuel cells; industrial air ducts, dampers and diverters, flexible tubing products, and metal bellows; and metal expansion joints and spring hangers. The company was formerly known as Senior Engineering Group plc and changed its name to Senior plc in 1999. Senior plc was incorporated in 1933 and is headquartered in Rickmansworth, the United Kingdom.

Senior plc announced group interim management statement results for the period since 1 July 2014. The group's adjusted profit before tax in the period was in line with the Board's expectations. Net debt at the end of September was slightly higher than anticipated due to currency impacts and an increased investment in working capital. Given the financial performance of the first nine months of the year and the current levels of activity, the Board expects 2014 adjusted profit before tax to be in line with its previous expectations.

The Board of Senior plc is recommending an interim dividend of 1.67 pence per share, an increase of 10% over the prior year compared to 1.52 pence a year ago, reflecting the Group's solid first half performance and encouraging future prospects. It will be paid on November 28, 2014 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on October 24, 2014. The company reported consolidated earnings results for the half year ended June 30, 2014. For the period, the company reported revenue of GBP 400.4 million against GBP 399.3 million a year ago. Profit for the period from continuing operations was GBP 36.0 million against GBP 33.3 million a year ago. Profit attributable to equity holders of the parent was GBP 36.0 million against GBP 33.3 million a year ago. Purchases of property, plant and equipment was GBP 11.6 million against GBP 12.1 million a year ago. Purchases of intangible assets were GBP 0.5 million against GBP 0.4 million a year ago. Net debt increased by GBP 55.1 million in the six-month period to GBP 114.3 million at 30 June 2014 compared to GBP 59.2 million in 31 December 2013. This increase was principally due to the GBP 74.4 million acquisition of Upeca (cash consideration of GBP 59.1 million plus overdraft and debt acquired of GBP 15.3 million).
