Sunwest Bank, together with its subsidiaries, provides banking services to small and medium sized businesses and professionals primarily in Orange County of California and Flagstaff of Arizona. It offers various deposit products, such as personal and business checking and savings accounts, including interest-bearing negotiable order of withdrawal (NOW) accounts, super NOW accounts, money market accounts, time certificates of deposit accounts, and individual retirement accounts, as well as specialty deposits. The company also provides commercial loans to local community businesses, and unsecured or secured by assets of the business and/or its principals; consumer installment loans, such as loans for automobiles, home improvements, debt consolidation, and other personal needs; and real estate loans comprising secured short-term permanent real estate loans and construction loans, as well as specialty loans. In addition, it originates loans that are guaranteed under the Small Business Investments Act. Further, the company offers various services, such as ATMs, ACH originations, online banking, touch-tone federal and state tax payment processing, lockbox services, travelers’ checks, safe deposit, MasterCard and Visa merchant credit card services, Visa debit cards, business sweep accounts, remote deposit capture, cash management, and payment processing services. It operates through 11 banking offices in California and Arizona. The company was founded in 1970 and is based in Irvine, California. Sunwest Bank is a subsidiary of Sunwest Bancorp.

Burnham Gibson Financial Group Inc. and Sunwest Bank have announced a new strategic referral alliance. Focusing on small- to mid-sized businesses and sharing a corporate culture that emphasizes personal relationships with clientele, both Sunwest Bank and Burnham Gibson Financial Group believe their partnership will provide greater support to clients and major growth potential for each company. Through the new alliance, Sunwest clients will gain access to services offered by Burnham Gibson, as well as service provided by partner company Burnham Benefits Insurance Services. Through the referral alliance, Sunwest clients will gain access to high-level financial advisory services that may not be available to them through other banking institutions. Together, Sunwest Bank, Burnham Gibson Financial Group and Burnham Benefits Insurance Services will provide clients with services to address more aspects of the financial spectrum.

Sunwest Bank Announces Executive Changes

The Board of Directors of Sunwest Bank has named Chris Walsh as its CEO in addition to president. Mr. Walsh will be replacing Glenn Gray, who has left the bank to pursue other interests. A veteran community banker, Mr. Walsh has been serving Sunwest Bank as President, overseeing the development of new and existing client relationships throughout California and Arizona. As CEO, he will assume the additional responsibility of managing the day-to-day operation of the bank, ensuring that it is consistent with the strategy and vision developed by the Board of Directors.
