AT&T, Inc. has improved its mobile Internet coverage at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) campus by completing the installation of a new 4G LTE-capable Distributed Antenna System (DAS). A DAS installation consists of multiple strategically-placed antennas that distribute AT&T's wireless network coverage throughout UAMS, providing for more efficient management of wireless capacity in heavily-trafficked areas. DAS has the ability to provide enhanced, more consistent wireless coverage to customers in indoor or outdoor spaces where geographical limitations-terrain, building construction, etc.-or crowd density might otherwise prevent the optimal wireless experience. The DAS build out covers one million square feet of the UAMS campus. The additional capacity is expected to help improve call reliability, boost data traffic capacity and enable more consistent network access so customers make the most of their AT&T devices.
