AT&T appointed LaTara Harris as regional director of external affairs.
Telefónica, S.A. (CATS:TEF) said it has not received any indication of interest from AT&T, Inc. (NYSE:T), following a Spanish newspaper report that the government halted a $93 billion offer from AT&T. An AT&T representative told the government about AT&T's plans to buy Telefónica and take on its debt, leading the state to stop the sale, El Mundo said citing sources with knowledge of the deal. "Telefonica has not received any approach or spoken or written indication of interest," a spokesman for Telefónica told Reuters.
AT&T, Inc. has expanded the 4G LTE network footprint to Sussex County, bringing more customers the latest generation of wireless network technology. Expansion extends AT&T's 4G LTE network already available in northern New Jersey, Middlesex, Monmouth and Ocean counties to more consumers and businesses in the area. AT&T 4G LTE coverage now includes portions of Routes 23 and 94 in the areas around Franklin, Branchville, Hamburg and Sussex. Several of the benefits AT&T 4G LTE provides, including: Faster speeds. LTE technology is capable of delivering mobile Internet speeds up to 10 times faster than 3G. Cool new devices. AT&T offers several LTE-compatible devices, including new AT&T 4G LTE smartphones and tablets. Faster response time. LTE technology offers lower latency, or the processing time it takes to move data through a network, such as how long it takes to start downloading a webpage or file once you've sent the request. Lower latency helps to improve services like mobile gaming, two-way video calling and telemedicine. More efficient use of spectrum. Wireless spectrum is a finite resource, and LTE uses spectrum more efficiently than other technologies, creating more space to carry data traffic and services and to deliver a better network experience.
