Further, the company provides machine-to-machine, maritime, and aircraft communication solutions; and financial services, as well as is involved in research and development activities, and leasing properties. Telenor ASA was founded in 1885 and is headquartered in Fornebu, Norway.

Telenor ASA Announces Audited Consolidated and Company Earnings Results for the Year Ended December 31, 2013; Provides Earnings Guidance for the Fiscal Year 2014

Telenor ASA announced audited consolidated and company earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2013. For the year, on consolidated basis, revenues were NOK 104,027 million against NOK 101,718 million a year ago. Operating profit was NOK 21,327 million against NOK 9,755 million a year ago. Profit before taxes was NOK 17,825 million against NOK 10,770 million a year ago. Net income attributable to equity holders of the company was NOK 8,748 million against NOK 8,809 million a year ago. Diluted earnings per share were NOK 5.74 against NOK 5.62 a year ago. Net cash flow from operating activities was NOK 36,990 million against NOK 24,002 million a year ago. Purchases of property, plant and equipment and intangible assets were NOK 15,612 million against NOK 16,892 million a year ago. EBITDA before other items was NOK 36 billion. EBITDA was NOK 35,209 million against NOK 31,980 million a year ago. Effective tax rate was 32%. For the year, on company basis, revenues were NOK 505 million against NOK 591 million a year ago. Operating loss was NOK 1,216 million against NOK 1,414 million a year ago. Profit before taxes were NOK 21,768 million against NOK 32,127 million a year ago. Net income was NOK 21,312 million against NOK 31,863 million a year ago. Net cash flow from operating activities was NOK 24,822 million against NOK 18,880 million a year ago. Purchases of property, plant and equipment and intangible assets were NOK 36 million against NOK 61 million a year ago. Effective tax rate was 2.1%. For the fiscal year 2014, based on the current group structure, excluding Myanmar and with currency rates as of December 31, 2013, Telenor expects low single digit organic revenues growth, stable EBITDA margin before other income and expenses and capital expenditures as a proportion of revenues, excluding licences and spectrum, of around 16%.

Promoters And Investors Seek To Sell Aircel

According to sources, multiple investors have envisaged interest in buying stake in Aircel Limited. The prospective investors include Idea Cellular Ltd. (BSE:532822), Telenor ASA (OB:TEL), AT&T, Inc. (NYSE:T) and MTN Group Limited (JSE:MTN). The promoters and investors of Aircel, including Maxis Communications Berhad, are looking to exit Aircel and have invited request for quotations for stake sale, sources told CNBC-TV18. Idea Cellular and Telenor have already initiated the due diligence process, sources said. Aircel promoters have set a June 2014 deadline for quotation. Though valuation figures are still being worked on, sources said it could be a significantly large deal in the range of over INR 200 billion. Idea and AT&T refused a comment. Others players were unavailable.

Government Invite Bids For The Auction Of Shares Of Telekom Slovenije

The government of Slovenia has called for expressions of interest in the purchase of 75.6% stake in Telekom Slovenije d.d. (LJSE:TLSG). Slovenska odskodninska druzba, d.d., Endowment Arm, said that bids for Telekom Slovenije are expected by April 23, 2014. The government and state-owned businesses together own about 75% of Telekom Slovenia, which has a market capitalisation of €876 million, with the remainder in the hands of private investors. Sources close to the deal told Reuters in December 2013, that companies such as Deutsche Telekom AG (DB:DTE) and Telenor ASA (OB:TEL) could be interested.
