Its Wireless segment offers cellular mobile, Internet broadband distribution, call center, mobile applications development, software development and sale of maintenance and support, mobile commerce solutions, solutions and systems integration, satellite communications, and satellite information and messaging services. This segment is also involved in the promotion of the sale and/or patronage of debit and/or charge cards; international trade of satellites and global system for mobile communication; and operates as a content provider. As of December 31, 2013, it served approximately 70,045,627 subscribers. The company’s Fixed Line segment provides fixed line telecommunication services to retail, corporate, and small medium enterprises, such as local exchange, international long distance, national long distance, and data and other network and miscellaneous services. This segment also offers information and communications infrastructure and services for Internet applications, Internet protocol-based solutions, and multimedia content delivery; Internet services; information technology (IT) outsourcing, and consulting and professional services; e-commerce, customer relationship management services; gaming support services; and bills printing services and other related value-added services. As of December 31, 2013, this segment had 2,069,419 fixed line subscribers. Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company was founded in 1928 and is based in Makati City, the Philippines.

NTT Communications and PLDT to Provide Philippine Companies with Enterprise Cloud

NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) announced a partnership with the Philippines' larger telecommunication company, Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company to provide PLDT's enterprise customers with NTT Com's enterprise-grade, infrastructure as a service (IaaS) solution, Enterprise Cloud. Commercial services are scheduled to begin in or after September. Enterprise Cloud, which enables enterprises to virtually access their individualized customer portal to configure virtual data centers, is offered via multiple servers in multiple international locations, including Japan, US, UK, Germany, Australia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia, totaling nine countries and 11 data center locations. PLDT will provide globally standardized IaaS services combining Enterprise Cloud and its own network services for Philippine-based enterprises. The enterprises will use these services to develop new solutions for global operations, especially in countries where NTT Com's cloud is present, and to strengthen business continuity using NTT Com resources outside the Philippines. The signing was held at the NTT Com office in Tokyo. Representing the PLDT Group was Eric R. Alberto, EVP and Head for Enterprise, International and Carrier Business, and Ken Kusunoki, SVP and Head for Fifth Sales Division, represented NTT Com.

Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PSE:TEL) is looking at acquiring a global Internet company, Chairman, Manuel V. Pangilinan said on July 18, 2014. A source with knowledge of the matter said one of the targets was a Europe-based firm, which could help Philippine Long Distance Telephone grow its e-commerce business. He said that the company was continuously looking abroad for investments. “Mostly Internet companies , these are global [players],” he said.
