The company reported net profit of CAD 1,860,000 compared to a net loss of CAD 7,484,000 in the comparable period of 2012. On a per share basis, the net profit for the three-month period ended February 28, 2013 was CAD 0.03 compared to a net loss of CAD 0.12 in the comparable period of 2012. Cash flows used in operating activities for the three-month period ended February 28, 2013 amounted to CAD 2,884,000 compared to CAD 7,929,000 in the comparable period of 2012.

Theratechnologies Inc. Appoints Dawn Graham as Member of its Board

Mr. Paul Pommier, Chair of the Board of Directors of Theratechnologies Inc. announced the appointment of Mrs. Dawn Graham as a member of its Board. Until recently, Dawn Graham was president of the Europe/Canada region for Merck & Co. This position represented the culmination of a 23 year career with this company. She had previously served as president of Merck Canada. At that time, she was returning from a two year stay abroad where she held the positions of Vice President, Asia Pacific, and, prior to this, Vice President, Global Marketing for the Arthritis, Analgesics and Osteoporosis franchise. She had previously particularly distinguished herself at Merck Canada as Vice President, Sales, and Vice President, Corporate Affairs. Board members and its current Chair, Paul Pommier, intend, if they are re-elected during the next annual meeting of shareholders to be held on May 24, to appoint Mrs. Graham as Chair of the Board of Directors at the meeting of the Board that will be held immediately after the annual meeting. Over and above the positions she held at Merck, Mrs. Graham also served as Chair of the Board of Directors of Rx&D as well as Chair of the Board of the Merck/Schering-Plough joint venture. She has also been an active member on many boards of directors.

Theratechnologies Inc. Announces Termination of its Distribution and Licensing Agreement with Ferrer Internacional, S.A

Theratechnologies Inc. announced the termination of its distribution and licensing agreement with Ferrer Internacional, S.A. for the commercialization of tesamorelin in Europe, Russia, South Korea, Taiwan and certain Asian countries for the treatment of excess abdominal fat in HIV-infected patients with lipodystrophy. Ferrer was also responsible for regulatory activities for tesamorelin in these territories. As a result of the termination of this agreement, Theratechnologies, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, now holds 100% of the commercialization rights for tesamorelin in Europe, Russia, South Korea, Taiwan and certain Asian countries. Currently, there are no approved treatments for lipodystrophy in HIV-infected patients available in Europe.
