It operates through two segments, Towable Recreational Vehicles and Motorized Recreational Vehicles. The company offers travel trailers under the trade names of Airstream International, Classic Limited, Sport, Flying Cloud, Land Yacht, and Eddie Bauer; Interstate Class B motorhomes; conventional travel trailers and fifth wheels under the trade names of Cruiser, Rushmore, Zinger, Elevation, Sunset Trail, Montana, Springdale, Hornet, Sprinter, Outback, Laredo, Alpine, Bullet, Fuzion, Raptor, Passport, Cougar, Landmark, Bighorn, Sundance, Elk Ridge, Trail Runner, Cyclone, Prowler, and Wilderness; and luxury fifth wheels under the name of Redwood. It also manufactures and sells gasoline and diesel Class A and Class C motorhomes under the names of Four Winds, Hurricane, Windsport, Chateau, Daybreak, Challenger, Tuscany, Outlaw, Palazzo, Axis, Vegas, and A.C.E.; and conventional travel trailers, fifth wheels, and park models primarily under the trade names of Dutchmen, Aerolite, Kodiak, Denali, Komfort, Voltage, Aspen Trail, Coleman, and Infinity. It markets its recreational vehicles through independent dealers. Thor Industries, Inc. was founded in 1980 and is based in Elkhart, Indiana.

Thor Industries Inc. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended January 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of $635,330,000 against $636,605,000 a year ago. Interest income, net was $389,000 against $731,000 a year ago. Income from continuing operations before income taxes was $23,902,000 against $24,458,000 a year ago. Net income from continuing operations was $17,218,000 or $0.32 basic and diluted per share against $19,019,000 or $0.36 basic and diluted per share a year ago. Net income was $16,192,000 or $0.30 basic and diluted per share against $19,896,000 or $0.37 diluted per share a year ago. Sales from continuing operations down slightly from the second quarter last year, due in large part to severe winter weather which adversely affected operations during the quarter. For the six months, the company reported net sales of $1,435,293,000 against $1,398,029,000 a year ago. Interest income, net was $894,000 against $1,504,000 a year ago. Income from continuing operations before income taxes was $78,343,000 against $68,626,000 a year ago. Net income from continuing operations was $53,612,000 or $1.01 basic and diluted per share against $47,768,000 or $0.90 basic and diluted per share a year ago. Net income was $57,300,000 or $1.07 diluted per share against $50,884,000 or $0.96 basic and diluted per share a year ago.
