The company has hired Jim Jenkins, the co-founder of Newland Communities, to oversee its master-planned communities. To launch its new venture, the company has tapped Jenkins as its new vice president of master-planned communities. At the company, Jenkins, who will be based in Houston, will lead the development of four master-planned communities in Houston and Austin. In each of these new communities, Toll Brothers will build less than half of the lots and sell the remainder to several homebuilder partners Jenkins comes to the company with a depth of experience in master-planned communities and land acquisitions. Toll Brothers Inc. announced earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended April 30, 2014. The company has reported that net income for the second quarter ended April 30, 2014 was $65.22 million, or $0.35 per diluted share, compared to $24.67 million, or $0.14 per diluted share, for the same quarter ended April 30, 2013. Revenues for the second quarter ended April 30, 2014 were $860.37 million, compared to $516 million for the same quarter ended April 30, 2013. Net income for the six months ended April 30, 2014 was $110.80 million, or $0.60 per diluted share, compared to $29.11 million, or $0.17 per diluted share, for the same period ended April 30, 2013. Revenues for the six months ended April 30, 2014 were $1.50 billion, compared to $940.60 million for the same period ended April 30, 2013.
