Toshiba Wins Order for Vietnam Coal-Fired Power Plant

Toshiba has received an order from Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction of Korea and Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan. Under the terms of the contract, Toshiba will supply two 600MW super-critical steam turbines and generators for the Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant in Binh Thuan Province, Vietnam. Doosan and Mitsubishi are members of the consortium awarded the engineering, procurement and construction contract for the project. Toshiba will start delivery in 2015 and the first unit of the plant will start operation in 2017. The Vietnam government plans to build a power expansion plan that will raise generating capacity from 26,836MW in 2012 to 75,000MW in 2020, and to 146,800MW by 2030. Construction of power plants to meet these targets, most of them coal fired, is underway.

Toshiba Corporation Wins JPY 6 Billion Geothermal Power Plant Order in Indonesia

Toshiba Corporation announced that it has won a JPY 6 billion geothermal power plant order in Indonesia. The Japanese company will supply three 60-megawatt steam turbines and as many generators for the Sarulla geothermal plant, which is now under construction in North Sumatra. Deliveries will start in July 2015, and the facilities will begin operating in stages from November 2016. The power plant will be operated by Sarulla Operations Ltd., a joint venture set up by companies including Itochu Corp., Kyushu Electric Power Co. and an Indonesian power firm.

Toshiba Corporation to Supply Steam Turbine and Generators for Geothermal Power Plant Projects

Toshiba Corporation announced that is has been awarded a major contract to supply 3 x 60-megawatt geothermal steam turbines and generators (STG) for one of large geothermal power plants, the Sarulla geothermal power plant project, which is now under construction in Tapanali Utara in Indonesia's North Sumatra. Toshiba will start to supply STGs to HDEC in July 2015, and the plant is scheduled to start operation in November 2016. Its output will account for approximately 1% of Indonesia's total power generation.
