Transurban Group Announces Earnings Results for the Full Year Ended June 30, 2014

Transurban Group announced earnings results for the full year ended June 30, 2014. For the period, the company reported revenue from ordinary activities decreased 3.8% to AUD 1,150 million. Profit from ordinary activities after tax increased 44.0% to AUD 252 million. Net profit attributable to members increased 64.0% to AUD 282 million. Profit before depreciation and amortization, net finance costs, equity accounted investments and incomes taxes increased 12.2% to AUD 759 million against AUD 676.2 million a year ago. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) increased by 12.8% to AUD 934 million. Total revenue was AUD 1,149.9 million against AUD 1,195.1 million a year ago. Profit before income tax was AUD 199.3 million against AUD 117.4 million a year ago. Profit from continuing operations was AUD 244.2 million against AUD 174.5 million a year ago. Profit for the year was AUD 252.2 million against AUD 174.5 million a year ago. On proportional basis, total revenue was AUD 1,231.7 million against AUD 1,103.7 million a year ago. Proportional EBITDA was AUD 934.1 million against AUD 828.0 million a year ago. Free cash was AUD 571.9 million against AUD 443.3 million a year ago.

Transurban Group Announces Changes to Executive Committee

Transurban Group announced changes within its Executive Committee. Samantha Hogg, Chief Financial Officer, will leave the company on 14 July 2014 after six years with the business. Until a permanent replacement is appointed, Leigh Petschel, currently General Manager, Finance, will serve as Acting Chief Financial Officer. Leigh joined the company in October 2013 and brought extensive finance capability with a background in the minerals, energy and utilities industries. Wes Ballantine was appointed Group General Manager, Queensland, effective 4 June 2014. Wes was formerly Group General Manager, Strategy, and in that role led the acquisition of Queensland Motorways. As Group General Manager, Queensland, Wes is responsible for the overall management of Queensland Motorways for the Transurban-led consortium owners. Tim Steinhilber, Group General Manager, Project Delivery and Operational Excellence, will transfer back to the USA and will support the delivery of the I95 project that is scheduled for completion at the end of 2014. Tony Adams, currently Vice President, Infrastructure, Major Projects, and based in the USA, will transfer back to Australia to assume the role of Group General Manager, Project Delivery and Operational Excellence. Tony joined Transurban in June 2003 and has over 25 years of experience in the design, development and implementation of major civil and technology infrastructure projects.
