The government also confirmed this plan and asked Summa and Transneft to prepare a plan for dividing the assets and the companies are working out the details. Transneft said the sale of its stake in NCSP is an "extreme option among many others." Nikolai Tokarev, President of Transneft said on March 20, 2014 that Transneft is looking for various options for changing its interest in NCSP, including the reduction of the stake and an exit. One source said, "As a result of the deal, Summa will get a clean dry cargo port without debts." But he added that the price "might turn out to be too low for Summa, which might value the oil handling assets with the transfer of leasing rights to Sheskharis' berths at about $3 billion." Open Joint Stock Company Rosneft Oil Company (LSE:ROSN) is also a suitor for the oil handling assets. Summa declined to comment.
