Toyota Announces Upgraded Version of Prius c

Toyota announced a revision of its model Prius c (known as Toyota Aqua in Japan) with a new design and functional changes compared with its previous version. The updated version features a 1.5-litre aluminium 4-cylinder gasoline (petrol) engine, which can produce 73 horsepower and has a 144-volt nickel-metal-hydride battery pack. Among the new features are redesigned single LED projector low- and high-beam headlights, and automatic climate control. For safety, the automaker has equipped the car with nine airbags, the Star Safety System which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), anti-lock brake system (ABS), brake assist (BA), and Smart Stop technologies. Separately, Mitsubishi has updated its Delica compact commercial van and launched it for sale on 20 November 2014. The minor upgrade includes replacing the seats for its GX class to black fabric. In addition, the luggage space has been stretched to 230 mm when the rear seats are folded down for increased loading capacity. The price ranges from JPY 1.7 million (USD 14,789) to JPY 1.99 million for the Delica van.

Toyota Recalls 422,509 Lexus Vehicles

Toyota announced that it will recall 422,509 Lexus brand vehicles in the US on a possible fuel leak that increases the risk of fire, according to a report from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). The recall affects Lexus LS models from 2007 to 2010 model years, Lexus GS from 2006 to 2011 and Lexus IS from 2006 to 2011. Toyota says it is not aware of fires or injuries caused by the condition, and will notify owners beginning in December. Separately, a Volkswagen (VW) recall of 442,000 Jettas and Beetles has been posted by US safety regulators. The issue covers issues if the rear trailing arm is damaged in an accident and not repaired properly; dealers will inspect rear trailing arms for damage and install sheetmetal to help prevent loss of control.

Toyota Motor Corporation Launches facelift Camry at Guangzhou Auto Show

Toyota Motor Corporation has launched its facelift Camry at the 2014 Guangzhou Auto Show. The vehicle is to arrive at Chinese dealerships in 2015 and is also likely to be launched in the Indian market. The model features a new bumper with larger air intakes, a grille embellished in chrome, inlets surrounded by a chrome slat, enclosures with circular fog lamps, new headlights, daytime running lights and a new three-spoke multifunction steering wheel.
