ucore rare metals inc (U9U) Key Developments

Ucore Rare Metals Inc. Announces Results of the Company's Testing of Molecular Recognition Technology to Generate 99%+ Pure Heavy Rare Earth Concentrate

Ucore Rare Metals Inc. announced the results of the Company's recent testing of Molecular Recognition Technology (MRT). Ucore has successfully utilized MRT to produce a near quantitative separation of a heavy rare earth concentrate (HREE Concentrate) consisting of 99+% of rare earth elements from a pregnant leach solution (PLS). The PLS was created by the extraction of metal values from beneficiated material sourced from the company's Bokan Dotson-Ridge property in Southeast Alaska (Bokan). The production of a high purity HREE Concentrate is the key and critical first step in the production, by separation, of individual high purity heavy rare earth salts. The resultant salts can be utilized to readily generate output products tailored to customer specifications. Those products include oxides, carbonates, nitrates and other salts of each of the individual rare earth elements (REE's). A highly purified HREE Concentrate can be considered an end product to be sold to independent rare earth separation facilities, or can be used as input material for an in-house individual rare earth salt separation facility. The tests on the PLS using MRT were conducted by IBC Advanced Technologies Inc. headquartered near Salt Lake City, Utah (IBC). The MRT process yielded a >99% pure HREE Concentrate, separated as a group, using proprietary MRT SuperLig(R) resins in fixed bed format. Greater than 99% of the contained HREE's were recovered from the Bokan PLS.

Ucore Rare Metals Inc. Provides Operational Update on Bokan - Dotson Ridge Project

Ucore Rare Metals Inc. provided the following update on operational activities in progress on the Bokan - Dotson Ridge Project in South East Alaska (Bokan). Ucore has contracted with SRK Consulting, to compile baseline data and qualitative results from ongoing engineering studies to produce a formal Plan of Operations (PoO) for the Bokan Project. The PoO will be submitted to the United States Forest Service to facilitate delivery of an Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and initiate the review process set out in the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Ucore additionally reports that two drills are now in operation at the site. The smaller of the two rigs is committed to infill drilling for the purpose of upgrading the existing Inferred resource to the Indicated category under NI 43-101 guidelines. The larger of the two rigs will drill multiple deep holes with the goal of expanding the existing Bokan-Dotson Ridge resource at further depth. The larger rig will additionally drill a number of geotech holes and groundwater monitoring wells to obtain supplementary data for use in the engineering and permitting of the project. The comprehensive field program, including all sampling, testing and drill work is being supervised by Project Manager Jim Robinson, P. Geo., of Aurora Geosciences, Juneau, Alaska. In addition to the aforementioned field work, metallurgical test work is now underway at Hazen Research of Denver, Colorado. This testing has the objective of optimizing the process flowsheet already set out in Ucore's Preliminary Economic Assessment. The finalized flowsheet will form the basis of the Bokan pilot plant scheduled for later this year. The results of the pilot plant testing, together with the above noted drill program, will be incorporated into the Bokan Feasibility Study, scheduled for delivery in 2015. Ucore continues to emphasize local employment and business opportunities wherever possible. The Prince of Wales Tribal Enterprise Consortium (POWTEC) has provided five personnel for the 2014 drill program using locally sourced employees. Aurora Geosciences is providing five local personnel for project management and technical services. Remote Made Easy of Ketchikan, Alaska, is providing full-time expediting services, fuel and material supplies, and casual labor on an on-call basis. In addition, Tyler Rental from Ketchikan is providing ancillary equipment on a contract basis.

Ucore Rare Metals Inc. Announces Field Program at Ray Mountains, Alaska

Ucore Rare Metals Inc. reported that it has undertaken a summer field program on its rare earths and tin multimetal property in the Ray Mountains area of Central Alaska. Several claim blocks located in the northern Ray Mountains region of Central Alaska were acquired by the company in 2011 as being prospective for rare earth content. The Ray Mountains region contains multiple mineralized stream systems and fluvial basins which have been the subject of a number of government surveys. The 2014 Ray Mountains program allows Ucore to complete the resampling and assay testing of key locations recently reported by the Alaska Geological Survey, and other earlier US Bureau of Mines work in the area, and examine the geological setting of the Kilolitna River Basin. A number of samples collected by Ucore's geological team will be processed for lab testing in the coming weeks. Ucore's Ray Mountains claim block is aligned with major alluvial features of the Ray Mountains region. Rare earths and associated metals such as tin have been found to occur in the alluvial outwash of the Ruby granitic batholith located in the area. The target metals are contained in heavy minerals such as monazite, xenotime, cassiterite, wolframite and zircon, which are widespread throughout the region.
