UNS Energy Corporation, through its subsidiaries, is engaged in the electric generation and energy delivery business. The company’s TEP segment generates, transmits, and distributes electricity to approximately 413,000 retail electric customers in southeastern Arizona; and sells electricity to other utilities and power marketing entities located in the Western United States. This segment provides electric utility services to residential, commercial, industrial, and public sector customers. As of December 31, 2013, it owned or leased 2,240 megawatts (MW) of generating capacity, as well as owned or participated in electric transmission and distribution system consisting of 564 circuit-miles of 500-Kilovolt (kV) lines; 1,088 circuit-miles of 345-kV lines; 413 circuit-miles of 138-kV lines; 481 circuit-miles of 46-kV lines; and 2,605 circuit-miles of lower voltage primary lines. The company’s UNS Gas segment distributes gas to approximately 150,000 retail customers in Mohave, Yavapai, Coconino, Navajo, and Santa Cruz counties in Arizona. As of December 31, 2013, its transmission and distribution system consisted of approximately 31 miles of steel transmission mains, 4,238 miles of steel and plastic distribution piping, and 138,951 customer service lines. The company’s UNS Electric segment generates, transmits, and distributes electricity to approximately 93,000 retail customers in Mohave and Santa Cruz counties. As of December 31, 2013, this segment had approximately 60 circuit-miles of 138-kV transmission lines, 274 circuit-miles of 69-kV transmission lines, and 3,651 circuit-miles of underground and overhead distribution lines; and owned the 62 MW Valencia plant and the 90 MW Black Mountain generating station, as well as 40 substations with a installed capacity of 1,549,000 kV amperes. The company, formerly known as UniSource Energy Corporation, was founded in 1902 and is based in Tucson, Arizona.

David G. Hutchens Begins Tenure as CEO of UNS Energy and Tucson Electric Power

David G. Hutchens, a 19-year employee of Tucson Electric Power who has served as the company's President and Chief Operating Officer, assumes an expanded role as Chief Executive Officer of TEP and its parent company, UNS Energy Corporation. Hutchens, 48, succeeds Paul J. Bonavia, who retires as the companies' top executive as part of a previously announced succession plan established by the UNS Energy Board of Directors. Bonavia, 63, will remain Executive Board Chair of UNS Energy. Hutchens retains his seat on the UNS Energy Board, as well as his role as President.

The Board of Directors of UNS Energy Corporation declared a dividend of 48 cents per share. The second quarter dividend will be paid on June 26, 2014, to common shareholders of record as of June 6, 2014.
