Open Joint Stock Company Uralkali, together with its subsidiaries, mines, extracts, produces, and sells mineral fertilizers, primarily potassium based fertilizers. It holds operating licenses for the extraction of potassium, magnesium, and sodium salts from the Berezniki, Durimanskiy, Bigelsko-Troitsky, Solikamskiy, and Novo-Solikamskiy plots of the Verkhnekamskoye field. The company also owns a licence for the Ust’-Yaivinskiy plot and the Polovodovskiy plot of the Verkhnekamskoye field. The company produces standard and granular muriate of potash; and carnallite, deicing salt, and salt products for oil industry. It has operations in the Russian Federation, Latin America, China, India, Southeast Asia, the United States, Europe, and other countries. The company is based in Berezniki, the Russian Federation.

Uralkali Signs Agreement with Promsvyazbank to Open USD 250 Million Credit Line for 10 Years

Uralkali has signed an agreement with Promsvyazbank to open a USD 250 million credit line with a 10 year payback period. The funds will be provided on an unsecured basis. The money will be used to refinance Uralkali's current liabilities and to finance existing investments.

Uralkali Obtains License to Develop Romanovsky Block of Verkhnekamskoye Deposit

Uralkali has obtained a license to develop the Romanovsky block of the Verkhnekamskoye deposit of potassium and magnesium salts. The terms of the license allow the company to conduct geological exploration of subsurface resources, as well as the exploration and extraction of potash, magnesium and mixed chloride salts. The total value of the license acquired in an auction is RUB 325,829,900 (approximately USD 9.12 million). The new block has estimated commercial reserves of 385 million tons of sylvinite ore2. The expiration date of the license is July 25, 2039.

Uralkali reported earnings results for the first half of 2014. For the period, the company boosted net profit to Russian Accounting Standards (RAS) 49% year-on-year to RUB 25.66 billion.
