USA Mobility, Inc. provides wireless messaging, mobile voice, and data and unified communications solutions to the healthcare, government, and enterprise sectors in the United States, Europe, Australia, Asia, and the Middle East. The company operates in two segments, Wireless Operations and Software Operations. The Wireless Operations segment provides one-way and two-way messaging services, including information services. Its one-way messaging consists of numeric messaging services, which enable subscribers to receive messages comprising numbers, such as phone numbers; and alphanumeric messages, including numbers and letters that enable subscribers to receive text messages. This segment’s two-way messaging services enable subscribers to send and receive messages to and from other wireless messaging devices, such as pagers, personal digital assistants, and personal computers. In addition, it offers voice mail, personalized greeting, message storage and retrieval, and equipment loss and/or maintenance protection to its one-way and two-way messaging subscribers; and provides mobile voice and data services through third party providers. The Software Operations segment develops, sells, and supports enterprise-wide systems to automate critical unified communications solutions for contact centers, clinical alerting and notification, mobile communications, and messaging, as well as for public safety notifications. It also provides professional services, such as installation and training; and post-contract support services, as well as sells equipment used with its software. The company serves businesses, professionals, management personnel, medical personnel, field sales personnel and service forces, members of the construction industry and construction trades, real estate brokers and developers, sales and service organizations, specialty trade organizations, manufacturing organizations, and government agencies. USA Mobility, Inc. is based in Springfield, Virginia.

USA Mobility, Inc. reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2013. Consolidated revenue for the first quarter was $53.1 million, compared to $51.9 million in the fourth quarter and $56.7 million in the first quarter of 2012. First quarter EBITDA totaled $15.5 million, or 29.3% of revenue, compared to $18.8 million, or 33.1% of revenue, in the year-earlier quarter. First quarter EBITDA included $14.3 million from Wireless and $1.2 million from Software. Net income for the first quarter was $6.9 million, or $0.32 per fully diluted share, compared to $8.5 million, or $0.37 per fully diluted share, in the first quarter of 2012. Capital expenses were $2.3 million, compared to $1.6 million in the first quarter of 2012. Operating income was $11,740,000 against $14,257,000 a year ago. Income before income taxes was $11,757,000 against $14,007,000 a year ago. The company generated $15.7 million in cash from operating activities in the first quarter and ended the quarter with a cash balance of $71.7 million. Total ARPU (average revenue per unit) was $8.25 in the first quarter, compared to $8.29 in the fourth quarter and $8.50 in the first quarter of 2012. Software Bookings for the first quarter increased to $14.3 million from $12.4 million in the first quarter of 2012. The company expects revenue of $195 million-$213 million, operating expenses (excluding depreciation, amortization and accretion) to range from $150 million to $152 million, and capital expenses to range from $8.1 million to $9.7 million.
The Board of Directors of USA Mobility, Inc. declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.125 per share, payable on June 25, 2013 to stockholders of record on May 20, 2013.
