Vail Resorts, Inc., through its subsidiaries, operates mountain resorts and urban ski areas in the United States. The company operates in three segments: Mountain, Lodging, and Real Estate. The Mountain segment operates eight mountain resort properties, including the Vail, Breckenridge, Keystone, and Beaver Creek mountain resorts in Colorado; the Heavenly, Northstar, and Kirkwood mountain resorts in the Lake Tahoe area, California and Nevada; and the Canyons mountain resort in Park City, Utah, as well as two urban ski areas, such as Afton Alps and Mount Brighton Ski areas. Its resorts offer various winter and summer recreational activities, including skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, snowtubing, sightseeing, mountain biking, guided hiking, children's activities, and other recreational activities; and ski and snowboard lessons, equipment rental and retail merchandise services, dining venues, private club services, and other winter and summer recreational activities. This segment also leases its owned and leased commercial space; and provides real estate brokerage services. The Lodging segment owns and/or manages various luxury hotels under the RockResorts brand, and other lodging properties; various condominiums located in and around the company’s mountain resorts; destination resorts; and golf courses, as well as offers resort ground transportation services. This segment operates approximately 4,900 owned and managed hotel and condominium rooms. The Real Estate segment owns, develops, markets, and sells real estate properties in and around the company’s resort communities. Vail Resorts, Inc. was founded in 1997 and is based in Broomfield, Colorado.

Vail Resorts Inc. Announces Executive Changes

On November 3, 2014, Blaise T. Carrig, President - Mountain Division of Vail Resorts Inc., notified the company that he intends to step down as President - Mountain Division of the company on August 1, 2015 as part of a planned leadership succession. After August 1, 2015, Mr. Carrig will remain with the company in a full-time role as senior mountain advisor through October 1, 2017. In anticipation of Mr. Carrig's retirement, the company announced that Patricia A. Campbell, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Breckenridge Ski Resort, will succeed Mr. Carrig as President - Mountain Division, effective August 1, 2015. Ms. Campbell, age 51, was appointed Executive Vice President in October 2013, and has been Chief Operating Officer at Breckenridge Ski Resort since October 2009 with oversight responsibility of Keystone Resort since 2011. Prior to her current role, she was Chief Operating Officer of Keystone Resort for three years. Ms. Campbell joined the Company in 1999 as the director of ski school at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

Vail Resorts Announces Executives Changes

Vail Resorts recently appointed Bill Rock, the current chief operating officer of Northstar California Resort, as the new chief operating officer of Park City Mountain Resort and Canyons Resort, effective November 1. Rock joined Vail Resorts in 2010 as the chief operating officer at Northstar California Resort and, at that time, was also given oversight of Heavenly and Kirkwood mountains. Rock came to Vail Resorts from Intrawest's Snowshoe Mountain Resort in West Virginia, where he was president and chief operating officer since 2005. He also served as chief operating officer at Durango Mountain Resort in southwestern Colorado and, prior to that, held several ski industry leadership positions since 1996. Rock will report to Blaise Carrig, president of Vail Resorts' mountain division, who will step down as interim leader of Park City Mountain Resort. Mike Goar, the current general manager of Canyons Resort, will continue his oversight of the resort and report directly to Rock. Simultaneous to Rock's move to Park City, Vail Resorts announced that it has promoted Beth Howard, vice president of mountain dining and clubs, to be general manager of Northstar California Resort, also effective November 1.
