Telefônica Brasil S.A. provides fixed-line telecommunications services to residential and commercial customers in Brazil. The company offers local voice services, including activation, monthly subscription, measured service, and public telephones; intraregional, interregional, and international long-distance voice services; data services comprising broadband services; mobile value added services; pay TV services through direct to home satellite technology, and land based wireless technology multichannel multipoint distribution service and cable; and network services, including rental of facilities, as well as other services, including extended maintenance, caller identification, voice mail, cell phone blockers, computer support, antivirus for Internet service subscribers, and posto informático. It also provides multimedia communication services, which include audio, data, voice and other sounds, images, and texts and other information. In addition, the company offers interconnection services to cellular service providers and other fixed telecommunications companies through its network; and sells wireless devices and accessories. Further, it provides Internet access service; and telecommunications solutions and IT support to various industries, such as retail, manufacturing, services, financial institutions, and government. The company offers its solutions through its stores, certified companies, recharge channels, telemarketing call centers, an online store, physical channels, and person-to-person sales. As of December 31, 2012, its telephone network included 10,646 thousand fixed-lines in service, 76,137 thousand mobile accesses, 3,733 thousand broadband clients, and 600 thousand Pay TV clients. The company was formerly known as Telecomunicações de São Paulo S.A. – TELESP and changed its name to Telefônica Brasil S.A. in October 2011 in connection with the merger with Vivo Participações S.A. Telefônica Brasil S.A. is headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil.

Cash generation provided by operating activities was BRL 2,231.6 million compared to BRL 2,052.9 million for the same period a year ago. Net debt at the end of the period was BRL 655.2 million compared to BRL 2,657.7 million for the same period a year ago. For the quarter, the company announced total traffic of 28,110 million minutes compared to 25,125 million minutes for the same period a year ago. Total traffic grew by 11.9% over first quarter of fiscal 2012 due to the increase of on-net local traffic and long distance calls.
