Valley National Bancorp operates as the bank holding company for the Valley National Bank that provides commercial, retail, and wealth management financial services. The company operates through four segments: Consumer Lending, Commercial Lending, Investment Management, and Corporate and Other Adjustments. Its deposit products include savings, NOW, money market, and non-interest-bearing accounts, as well as certificates of deposit. The company’s loan products portfolio comprises commercial loans, including floating and adjustable rate commercial and industrial loans, and fixed rate owner occupied and commercial real estate loans; and consumer loans comprising residential mortgages, as well as automobile loans, home equity loans and lines of credit, loans secured by the cash surrender value of life insurance, and credit card loans. It also provides trust services to individuals; asset management advisory services, including investment services for individuals and small to medium sized businesses; and custom tailored investment strategies for retirement plans. In addition, the company invests in securities, such as fixed rate investments, federal funds, and interest-bearing deposits with banks; and offers international banking services, such as standby letters of credit, and documentary letters of credit and related products. Further, it provides property and casualty, life, health, and title insurance; asset-based lending support services; and health care equipment and other commercial equipment leases, as well as owns and services real estate related investments, general aviation aircraft loans and existing commercial equipment leases, and New York commercial loans. Additionally, the company offers other banking services, such as automated teller machines, telephone and Internet banking, and safe deposit facilities. It operates 210 branches in 146 communities in New Jersey and New York. The company was founded in 1927 and is headquartered in Wayne, New Jersey.
