Vontobel Holding AG is seeking acquisitions in Germany, according to the company's Chief Executive Officer, Zeno Staub. Staub said on March 19, 2013 that the company wants to grow in Germany and does not exclude acquisitions as a means for achieving that. Staub added that Germany and Switzerland are the only European markets where the bank would want to conduct takeovers but the latter are not the most important for it.

Vontobel Holding AG announced that its board of directors promoted Oliver Häberli to managing director in its private banking operations and Stuart McCandlish to managing director in investment banking. The company also aid Matthew Benkendorf and Jacques Blatter were named managing directors in asset management, while Damir Delas will become a managing director of operations.

Vontobel Holding AG said Feb. 19, 2013 that it named Lionel Pilloud head of its Geneva office, replacing Jean-Pierre de Glutz. De Glutz will retire in July 2013 and Pilloud will begin his new role in the summer. Pilloud will oversee the company's Swiss activities as well as various cross-border private banking initiatives, including those involving the Middle East. Frédéric Rouiller will succeed Pilloud as head of the advisory business for French-speaking Switzerland.
